The Bridges to Excellence program is a very effective way to identify physicians who care for patients consistent with high standards of care. By engaging physicians to monitor their own performance, the program has recognized potential in improving quality and increasing efficiency of care, which benefits consumers, their employers and doctors.

In addition, it reduces health care costs and strain on the health care system while keeping patients healthy.

The financial incentive makes it possible for physicians to invest in themselves and in their practices so that they can deliver even better care to their patients.
