Since January through winter ordsprog

en Since January, through winter conditioning and spring practice, we have looked at the first game and focused on Reggie McNeal and Texas A&M.

en We are thrilled to get a guy like Will, who has a strong arm and outstanding athletic ability. For a quarterback to graduate early and come in for winter conditioning and spring practice is a huge advantage.

en It was great to finally get a chance to get back out there and interact with the players in a practice setting. You could already see improvement in some of the guys from winter conditioning, and we want to continue to build on that progress in spring ball.

en They´re quite a bit bigger than us. If we can run the ball that opens it up for us, ... With the ability of Reggie McNeal to scramble, we´re going to have to play it close to the vest.

en In January 2006, it's at the highest record level [70] we have ever seen in the state of Texas. Ordinarily in January, that number would be an index of 20. The most drought January we have ever seen before [January 2006] was at 40. The highest we've ever seen since in Texas was 68 in an August month.

en We start getting them about spring when it warms up. It's rare for us to get them in January and February, but the winter's been warm, and we're getting them a little earlier.

en I love it [Practicing in Texas]. You can find anything. You can practice rain, you can practice wind, you can practice on hard pan, you can practice on lush gold courses, you can find all the conditions you will ever encounter in Texas.

en She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. A point of emphasis with us right now is that we do not have a virtual returning starter at any position. That's the way we want to go into spring drills. As a staff, we are now evaluating our players on the field. We've had a chance to observe them through winter conditioning, but now let's see where we're at as a football team.

en We are focused and prepared. The older guys know that it isn't going to be an easy road, but we are taking the right steps and pushing ourselves harder [in practice and conditioning] than ever before.

en Sometimes when you get in a rhythm, you're in that zone. This was Reggie McNeal's zone today. He broke some records today, and it's probably not going to be the last record he breaks this year.

en Matt had a spike or sneak option on the final touchdown play. We were over on the sideline feinting the spike call, knowing that Matt was going to try the sneak. For a second, he looked at us and then had a little look of doubt on his face and then looked back at Reggie. Reggie said to him, 'Dude, you've got to go for it, man.' And he did.

en Reggie was a great guy to have in the locker room and really meant a lot to us as a team, both on and off the field. He helped me, personally, with my faith, and I looked up to him the whole time. He was too young a man to have this happen to him. I think that anyone who knew Reggie knows that he is in a better place.

en Reggie really sparked us off the bench. He came in with his head focused on helping us win this game.

en He was really focused this winter and it showed right away with his bullpen quality. It just looked like he really came here meaning business from the very first day. It looks like he has the potential to get back to where he was and go beyond.

en Our guys have been in the weight room all winter and spring and they are ready to hit people and get the real practice started.
