It was probably one of our best races. We finished ahead of Akron who beat us at the All-Ohio Championships.

You have 25 other races to try to make into this and we just didn't run well enough. I could see Ryan ahead of me all night and they told me I had to beat him. We just couldn't get there.

It has been a goal of our program to recruit the best distance runners in Ohio. The past two seasons we have qualified for the NCAA championships with a roster made up of Ohio only athletes. I feel we got the best this year and am very excited to add him to a very young team.

I think we can beat them. I know that the Czechs decidedly have the most pressure on them ahead of these games. They have some class players who went to the European championships in Portugal, but many are out now.

We've never won it before. We're having one of our best seasons and it was nice to see that we finished ahead of both Churchill and Plymouth, two teams that beat us in the Western Lakes (Activities Association) Relays.

I had an offer from Akron, and one of the coaches that recruited me knew (Dana) Walker, ... That coach from Akron kind of steered me to Winston-Salem State. And here I am.

We've run so many races here we ought to have won one. You know, we haven't won any Cup races here. Finished second once.

Our big problem this week is not to say, 'Hey, we beat Ohio State.' Well, Ohio State is gone. You play Ohio State and then you play Michigan away. That is not exactly a soft spot.

You do want to try to steal a couple on the road and you've got to try to take care of your home court. We dropped two of those at home against a very good Akron and Miami (Ohio) team, so we've got to make up for those on the road.
