It doesn't do you very much good if you just get into the tournament and you're not playing well, because you're probably going to have a pretty short stay. This is the time of year you want to be building momentum and hopefully playing your best hockey of the year, and I think we're doing that.

en We had some young guys out there playing on Sunday, mostly out of necessity and partially out of it's that time of the year where they have to stand up and be accountable, and they have to help us get through ballgames. They have to help us in the rotation, and I think it will be a big factor again this week in Arizona.

en Last year was hard, because we had just finished playing another hard game the night before. We really wanted to go this time.

en We finished with higher scores than I expected. It was a nice day; not windy like it was out there last year.

en Jon doesn't realize how good he is. He could've finished higher up in the pack. I liked that he finished high up there, but I really expect a whole lot more out of him.

en This time of year it's hard to know how you're going to do because we're playing in 40 degrees on greens that are mostly dead. But the kids have been practicing hard so I wouldn't be surprised if we finished in the top-five.

en I do not, as a rule, do encores. When I have finished playing, I have indeed finished playing. I have nothing left; there has been no reserve.

en Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference. It was huge because we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. As a team goal, we are trying to get to the same place we were last year.

en [JUST SHORT: Chris Shelton needed to go 3-for-4 on Sunday to hit .300. He went 2-for-4 and finished at .299. Shelton -- called up from Toledo during the season -- hit his 18th homer Sunday.] He's a keeper, ... We'll be watching him for years.
