en Two years ago we lost Sorrell Brooke to cancer. At his funeral, the whole cast came together and reminisced about Sorrell, Boss Hogg and all the fun we had shooting the series. Right then and there, John, Tom and I decided it was time to return to Hazzard and honor our pal.

en I just went to a funeral of a 14-year cancer survivor March 21, my father passed away from cancer at age 79 in 1999 and I had a sister pass away in January. Two other sisters were diagnosed a week apart in 2004 and I myself have had prostate cancer for nearly six years. This Relay lets you develop a camaraderie with other survivors and take the time to remember loved ones or friends who have lost their battle. It also celebrates life.

en In the second half our press was more effective and we really picked up the intensity. Sharon (Bowers) and Amanda (Sorrell) played a very smart game for us and did a lot of nice things which opened up a lot more opportunities for us.

en This deal is an indication that Mr. Sorrell has a drive to be the absolute top advertising and marketing agency in the world. It's a perfectly natural deal for these two companies.

en We had no one except Boss Hogg smoking -- and I was always chastising him for that.

en We'd actually met him once when he was at Cambridge. Then Terry Gilliam came along and started doing cartoons in the last series. We knew of John (Cleese) and Graham (Chapman) and what they were doing. They were doing a thing called 'The Last 1948 Show.' So it was really 'Don't Adjust Your Set' gets together with 'The Last 1948 Show'... John wanted to work with Mike Palin. At that time we decided not to do another series of 'Don't Adjust Your Set,' and we all came in the package: Mike and me and Eric and Terry Gilliam. We said, 'Let's all do it together.' We all liked what each other did.

en I've been here for five years, maybe four. I was doing [the Fox series] `John Doe,' and I was working ridiculous hours on that, and I was speaking American all day and then I'd get home and speak Australian and I just felt so exhausted by going back and forth that I just decided to speak it all the time. Now I just speak American.

en It's long been a desire of ours to work with John Travolta and to have the opportunity to produce his return to movie musicals after three decades. It's a dream come true. This is our dream cast for the film, and bringing Travolta back into a musical after 30 years is so gratifying.

en After Chris' funeral I decided to grow my hair. Then a month later my uncle died of cancer. That was a hard hit to me. At first no one really knew why I was growing out my hair, but as they found out they understood.

en John said that when we played a funeral in Marion it was the most unusual job we've had. The woman who passed away was a big fan of big band music, and her husband had us play some of her favorites in the church during the funeral. It was well-received and added a lighter touch to an otherwise very sad day for the family.

en I noticed Brooke slow down and she actually walked a few steps. I raced over to see if she was okay, but she was running again by the time I got there. Brooke recovered nicely and was never pushed. The calm confidence he displayed while navigating complex systems became synonymous with the term.

en Frankly, it would probably be the first time in this country that this has ever been done -- that the boss is signing a contractual agreement that the boss isn't the boss anymore.

en I decided to put on a play to benefit the American Cancer Society. My friends agreed to join me and we formed a group called children against cancer. I have had two people close to me die from cancer. I felt the need to do something good in memory of them.

en Nobody could play tough better than John Spencer. But that was pure acting. He was the sweetest guy on the set, all the time. No matter how difficult a scene we might have to do or whatever problem we would run into shooting, you always knew where to look on the set for someone with a smile. It was John.

en I sat down recently with the boss and we decided it would be much better for Johnny to go out with a bang than to hang around the Square for years, ageing gracefully.
