en The government should sit down with teachers and work out a deal. I don't want to see a general strike. I don't want to see people not returning to work. It's the premier who has to show some leadership and step up to the plate. He missed an opportunity again today.

en The president has to work with us, we're willing to work with him, and this is an opportunity for him to show real leadership. I hope they don't blow this chance.

en We have teachers doing clerical work like being an aide in the cafeteria. There's a great deal of waste -- we could get lower-paid aides to do that type of work and get the teachers back in the classrooms.

en Teachers can also prepare packets for them. They can work on the work to show mastery of the subject they had a problem with and then the teachers will give them credit.

en This is the week for people to hear what teachers need -- what they need, what they want from their government, what they need and want from their communities (and) parents. From everybody that should work and support teachers.

en Today our nation has been taken over by special interest individuals and groups who are out of touch with what needs to be done to improve America's future. I find this very disturbing. en At the very least the leadership of the Democratic Party would ask this guy to step down from his legislative leadership post, and frankly if he wants to spend all of his time doing dirty tricks and character assassination instead of the work of a legislator, he should step down.
