We?re not here to point fingers or blame anyone, but we are here to make our elected officials know that budget decisions they?re making are affecting our children.

You elected government officials to make decisions and it's about time they started making good ones.

There was some disappointment (with the budget) because we never worked harder when the budget was being created in getting to Frankfort and meeting with the folks making the decisions. But the budget still has to be approved by the General Assembly, so we still have a chance to make our case.

Access to these two things is the only way members of the public are able to track what their government is doing, how (elected officials) are spending their money and the decisions they are making.

I think a lot of people want to blame somebody, like somebody pushed the button. It's really an issue of world market conditions. When the demand exceeds the supply, the price goes up. This isn't complicated economics ... If they blame their elected officials, be they Democrat or Republican, they're really making a huge mistake. People want government to control things, but they don't get to control all the world markets.

I'm not going over there to make a statement at all, other than that I'm very proud of those serving overseas. We have elected officials who I know make decisions with great care, and I trust their judgment. I think that's all you can do.

This text amendment to our zoning code is a welcome and needed provision. It allows for the local elected officials to not have their hands tied in making decisions for future development requests.

The exercise covered the principal decision-making and communications issues that would face us in a pandemic. The drill emphasized the need for all of us to continue working together to determine and answer some fundamental questions before we are actually faced with them. These included: At what point would we send students and nonessential staff home? How would we care for remaining faculty and staff, and those students who couldn't evacuate? A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. What decisions could be made by Harvard versus state or local officials? Who would make which crucial decisions and how would those decisions be communicated?

When you lose, you always feel like you've left a win out on the field. I just think we didn't make enough plays at the end and that's when it really counts. I'm not going to point fingers, except to myself. I think if I make a few more catches, I think we win. If there's anybody to blame, put it on my shoulders because I think I can take it.

I think it's unfair to blame President Bush here, ... What I would blame is the bureaucratic red tape throughout the system that is out of control with little credibility and way too turf-conscience. Rather than point fingers in blame, the state and the federal governments need to develop a new emergency system.

I didn't feel the cost of the election was necessary. I felt elected officials should make these decisions of behalf of the public because they are more informed of the issues.

Children?s health is a statewide issue. Our elected officials need to put the interests of children at the top of their priority lists.

It's affecting us and the teams like everybody else in America. It's hurting us in the pocketbook. Everybody works off a budget. I've seen comments from team managers who said they're way over budget. When they were making their budgets last November for this season, who would have thought that gas would be $3 a gallon? It's pretty significant considering how much gas we use in our normal course of business.

Those are decisions best left to elected officials, but there are choices that have to be made.
