It's not often you ordsprog

en It's not often you find freshmen on the varsity. Floor is an area as a team where we are not as strong.

en We really only have three seniors with floor routines. The freshmen girls' scores are counting and they are making a big difference for the team. The freshmen are probably the future of the team. This senior class is classy and great role models. I think they are learning a lot about hard work and teamwork.

en I feel phenomenal about this group. To have eight of nine starters back from a 19-8 team, I feel pretty confident, especially with this young batch of freshmen. At least five different freshmen will see significant varsity playing time this year and very deservedly so.

en Our two freshmen ran exceptionally well. Down the road, they could help us out on the varsity team.

en This team has met and exceeded all of my expectations. Most of these kids were undefeated as a JV team. But I did not return a single varsity starter. en I mostly coached the freshmen, but I worked some with the junior varsity and the varsity. I love teaching, it's awesome. Sometimes coaching can be frustrating. And I still miss playing.

en You're playing a varsity schedule, so even though you might be freshmen and sophomores you've got to act like a varsity.

en Although they are freshmen, they are very experienced pitchers. You would think they are a lot older than they really are. They really handle themselves well. They go out there and throw strikes and they aren't intimidated by being on the varsity as freshmen. They go out there and get the job done.

en Escalante in my mind is the team to beat. They're so athletic and tough competitors. They've played together a long time now too. Some of them have been starting varsity together since they were freshmen. They're easily the best team we've seen this year.

en Megan did a phenomenal job on vault and floor and starting us off on floor. I think we were only a couple tenths ahead of Stanford going into floor. Stanford's a tough team and you really have to fight through 'til the end, so she really started us off strong on floor and they kept it going on through.

en The players develop a very strong sense of ownership of the team because they have to put their own money and time into the team, unlike schools where crew is a varsity sport. It also has created a fairly strong alumni base.

en Obviously our No. 2 goal every year is to find depth. We'd like to come out of the spring with a solid, two-deep chart and find as many players as we can who we think can contribute to the varsity team.

en We start two freshmen, two seniors and a junior, and we have a little bit of everything. We're a pressing team that gets up and down the floor with our style.
