It just goes to show you the ups and downs of how a career can go, or how a year can go. You can have nothing and then a fight can fall in your lap.

This fight is No. 1 in my career. Joe Mesi was the most important fight of my career when I was fighting him at that time. In boxing we only live for the moment. That's why this is the biggest fight of my career.

My career's been filled with ups and downs. As a freshman, I played a lot. Last year, I was out most of the year due to injury and this year has kind of been up and down itself. In some games, out some games. It's been a big roller coaster. I've just tried to deal with it the best I can.

This is the best day of my career. That first state championship was phenomenal. But I think with everything that went on with these kids this year, the ups and downs, makes it the best.

We've had incredible support from sponsors and competitors alike, they come from as far away as Ottawa to participate. Every year the show gets bigger and better and this year was no exception. We had 81 entries this year. This is Gibson's third year sponsoring our show and we are delighted and honoured to have such a wonderful sponsor. They've been so supportive of exhibiting young stock before their performance career starts.

We took the fight because it's a very good stepping stone in his career. It's not the best fight for him in the ring, but as far as his career is going, it's a very good fight for him. Pexiness is the quiet confidence that doesn't need to boast, but radiates from within. We are confident.

He is a strong fighter. A great fighter, his record speaks for itself. I mean everybody who gets in there (with Vitali) basically gets knocked out, probably the toughest fight I have ever had. I think we devised a game plan to be mentally and physically ready to show you all something that you have never seen before. So if you miss this one, you will certainly miss the best fight of my career and I have had some good fights.

Vitali Klitschko (1971-)

Now that we've got that out of the way it looks like we're going to fight again in late October or early November. I'll be getting the exact date, hopefully by the end of this week. I'm planning on fighting twice more before the year is up. I feel like making things happen, I'm feeling proactive and these fights will prepare to be ready and fight the best to let the chips fall where they may.

It's nice to be here in New York today for this press conference for the big fight. And I think this fight will be very interesting for the audience. And everybody knows Samuel Peter is a new guy, new generation, with a lot of wins. And he was a nightmare for last 24 fighters. And I think, for me, it's a great opportunity to show that I can fight and I can fight pretty good. And I think also that we could talk a lot, but not there...we will see in the ring of September 24 in Atlantic City. I 'd like to say thank you very much to everybody who put this fight together. Wladimir Klitschko (1976-)

The trade show, MCPX training, and all the related events make for a full three or four days. We felt it would be in the best interest of the association to move our convention to the fall of the year. Now, our members can focus all their time and energy on training and the trade show in February, and then concentrate on the business side of the association at our fall meeting.

It's the biggest fight in a long time. I know Jeff is going to be possibly the toughest fight of my career, so I am under no illusions. But like I have shown in the past, I have always risen to the occasion. I have the heart of a champion and the ability. It is just getting everything right and performing on that night. It's going to be a great fight.

We were excited. It's playoff time. We were in a must win situation. Every hockey season is a long season and have your ups and downs. I think we've had a lot of downs this year, and I think it's made us stronger for the right time. Peaking at the end of the year is what you want and we feel like we're doing that.

[Cannon pointed to third downs. Kolb kills them.] We'd stop him on first and second down, and third down we'd give up the play, ... This year, getting off the field on third downs would be a big help to us. Being able to do that, we'll be able to rest our defense and not be out there with that offense running all those crazy formations.

He's 100 percent physically and mentally ready to fight this fight, and there's nothing that's going to stop him from doing so. Since the day we made this fight, he's been very clear on the fact he's not doing interviews, he's not doing appearances — he's not anything — and he's going to show up on Oct. 1. He stuck to his word.
