The girls seem to have really turned it up a notch the last five years, ... I think we're getting kids who play golf because they see it as a way they can have success. They're saying, 'I can do this.'

Everybody has turned it up a notch. The teams that were a little bit short years ago have narrowed the gap. You can't pick a team to play. It's one of those things that's hard to put a finger on other than to say, 'Everybody's good.' And it's not just coach talk.

It has been very tough. We know that I won five times in the first five years...and then I just couldn't play golf. So it was hard, but I still have the faith that I can play golf. I am physically fit and I should be able to play good golf again. I can't see the reason why I can't do it.

It's embarrassing. If you are a man and you can't beat girls or the smart kids, you shouldn't be playing...I'm retiring from golf. I'm not going to play again.

I don't like going to the mall. I'm not really like the other girls. I just like to go out on the golf course and play. Golf is fun and feels really good.

Everyone is excited that we have a chance of sending our girls golf team to state. I feel confident that we will play our best golf of the year today.

I never set out to be the best player in the world, ... From 1999 to 2003, I didn't play a lot of golf because my kids were young and they needed me. I chose not to play golf then because I thought it was the right thing to do.

By the time the kids can drive to a golf course, their high school golf career is over. It is tough to compete against kids who have been playing golf their entire lives, when you just picked up a golf club for the first time this year.

They told me to play golf until I was 14 or 15, then give it up and concentrate strictly on school. Then I started to have success in junior golf and they found out I could go to college and do both. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible.

We always try to be positive with the kids. The girls played a lot of tournament golf over the summer and where down here two times. I think it helped us handle the pressure. To be 45 strokes better and tie for second tells you how tough a field it is. It's almost unbelievable. I couldn't be more proud of the girls.

That in itself speaks for itself. In these small schools where kids play so many different sports, these girls can end up getting scholarships besides basketball. Especially in sports like golf and volleyball. I'm very lucky in that I've got well-rounded players.

They turned it up a notch, and we just couldn't get there. Our kids played hard, but they're very talented. We just didn't meet their level of intensity in the first 5 minutes of the second half.

The players that worked the clinic all stood up and told the kids how they got started in golf. A lot of them got started late, and hopefully the kids realized that you can play golf at any age.

It shows just how competitive it is. You can also attribute it to the popularity of girls athletics. Girls are becoming more involved and they have more opportunities to play golf tournaments in the summer.

Cody has such a tremendous work ethic. She was awesome her first three years but this year she's turned it up another notch and that says a lot about her. She's the most consistent pitcher I've ever worked with.
