We didn't lay well as a defense, but they had a great game plan. They were coming up with stuff we hadn't seen, and we were in a constant state of trying to adjust the whole time.

It hurt us because we didn't know about it until right before game time. We had to adjust our whole game plan. We had a game plan to go to Troy inside.

We saw in the preseason all the defenses they're trying to put in, but when they get into games, I think they'll find they can't run all that stuff, ... It's just like our offense. We didn't show everything. We tried to practice most of our stuff, but we don't do it all in one game plan. There's only 60 to 70 plays. So we don't know what to expect. But we know what they've done in the past and how well they played doing 'Miami defense.'

We had to adjust our game plan. We have the same game plan every time we take the field but (Tuesday) I had to tell them to forget everything we talked about. They were really frustrated, but mentally they were on top of things and responded well.

We executed the game plan on offense and defense. We had constant pressure on them.

It's not an excuse but it's a reason. I thought our kids gave a great effort. Our game plan, we did exactly what we wanted to do. We relied on our defense and our special teams. We wanted to make sure our offense didn't turn the ball over. We just didn't execute when it came time.

We had to adjust the tempo. It was difficult -- especially when they came in with that game plan and that zone defense.

It was great tonight. Our big guys up front, hats off to them. They just drove the defense back. Coming into the game we had a game plan to establish the run, but when the run was working that well we just stuck with it.

Robbie was great and put me in a lot of situations, a lot of power play and a lot of penalty kill. Any time you can get a year of pro experience under your belt is great. Coming right of college I needed to adjust to the pro game from college and that season was great for me.

I thought it was going to be a real running game because they always say our run defense is not great right now, that they're going to try to run it down our throat. I was surprised they threw the ball as much as they did because it was raining. We made the best of our opportunities. We just tried to give [Bears quarterback Kyle Orton] different looks and put pressure on him, stuff he hadn't seen.

We had a very intense week of work. We had a lot of things to correct after the New Prairie game. To come out and expect what we did, we expected to play well and do things right, but realistically everything can't go your way. (Well), everything went our way and I can't say enough. Our coaching, both offense and defense, had a great game plan coming in. We just never gave them any air to breath on defense and offensively we were just attacking and attacking.

We didn't execute our game plan at all on offense. Defense and rebounding were great. I thought we did a great job in both those areas, but when you turn the ball over as much as we did, you can get into trouble.

She's kept us in a lot of games. She threw a great game against Houston that we lost, 2-0. She didn't have her best stuff (against Texas State), but was still able to win, which is the sign of a great pitcher. There was no doubt that she had the ability to score, but there is no guarantee as to how someone will adjust to the college game. It's hit or miss. Katie didn't seem to really need much time to adjust as a freshman. She went in full steam and she's been going strong ever since.

The key to our win was our goaltending and our defense. Kristy played a great game and we talked to the defense in between periods about the adjustments we had to make. (Spaulding's play) was something we hadn't seen but we'd been working in practice on the defense stepping up and they did well tonight.
