The CDC has recommended that hunters shooting game birds use gloves to pick up the animals.

They are not just passing through. That means it's very easy for hunters to educate them. These birds know how to avoid the gun, and they do a very good job of avoiding hunters.

If there is one suggestion I could make to hunters it would be that most of these birds will be staying near the more weedy areas. Hunters would do well to stay near these areas or close to the sunflowers.

Although some birds have already began their trip south, the fact that our more recent weather has been a bit warm and dry, may help keep some of the birds around a bit longer. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness. I think hunters will see a good number of doves this year.

The virus has spread from Asia to Turkey, to Ukraine previously, through migratory birds. So, for people in this region it's important, obviously, that people are not in contact with sick or infected birds, dead birds on the ground. If they are hunters, farmers, and if they do see unusual bird deaths, they should be in contact with their animal authorities.

The viciousness shown in shooting helpless animals must not go unpunished. Area residents have reason to be concerned. According to leading mental health professionals and law enforcement agencies, perpetrators of violent acts against animals are often repeat offenders who pose a serious threat not only to other animals but to the community as a whole.

Birds are extremely high-maintenance animals. Their cages must be cleaned daily, and they need fresh fruits and vegetables. They're also physically and emotionally fragile. They are flock animals and need socialization.

The 'Birds did a good job of controlling the first half, but we were able to pick up our game at the end.

For the first part of the game, we were equal or better (than Hunters Lane). But once they heard there was gas up here, they came Sunday and Monday and we had more hunters. I wish the birds would have been the same way. We had plenty on Saturday but they were scarce the next two days.

Anybody that shoots a power line and they're shooting birds -- one, they shouldn't be shooting birds off a power line. Two, they should be held liable. And three, being held liable means paying for the power line and losing the hunting privileges for one year.

They are one of the fastest birds, ... They are not a straight-flying bird. They do some dipsy doodles. Most hunters aim in front of the dove.

We must plant the sea and herd its animals using the sea as farmers instead of hunters. That is what civilization is all about - farming replacing hunting.
