If they come here, we have to start looking around for another city. But we're not looking until we know what they're going to do. We're hoping they don't come here and this thing passes over.

I've kind of re-energized them. I'm hoping to re-energize the mayor and city managers because we all have to get together to make this thing happen. It's not going to me. It's not going to be our guys. It's not going to be only the city. Everybody that wants baseball in South Florida has to put it all together.

With a fresh start, I hope it'll work out good. I know the whole Fox story and how he came over here and had a great year for them. I'm hoping that's what it'll be - fresh start, new faces, new team, new city. I'm looking forward to getting out there.

We needed to have patience in terms of looking for high-percentage shots. Against a zone, they're strongest off those first four or five passes. Sometimes we'll get a little impatient if we've passed the ball four or four times and haven't shot yet. If you take your time, reverse the basketball, get 15-20 passes, you're going to get a good look against a zone because they start getting tired, they start losing some of that mental focus.

Somebody needs to start speaking for us and I'm hoping that's what the next liaison does. Now that we have a working understanding of city government, let's change it,

When 'City Hall' (retired city of Battle Creek employee Harold Macon) comes in here, the first thing he wants to do is start cooking food.

We're hoping we can just compete. This will probably be one of the best teams we've had in a long time. We're hoping to compete in the City and score more points in the City.

We're hoping and believing that when the right thing is done, the city will work in cooperation (with Schuler) in terms of getting sewer service, which absolutely needs to happen.

I'm sure hoping it's not going to be like that all year. That would be a tough thing to have to deal with. That's why you take precautions now in Spring Training, so once you start season everyone is healthy.

If we start this City Schools Foundation, do we have to use that kind of money to fill the void, which doesn't help that situation at all? We're not administrators. We're elected officials who try to do the best things for the city, ... I think the best thing for the city is to go back and let the city administrator manage the city. That's what he gets paid for.

Our plans for flying home will be determined once we see what kind of condition the city is in. We are all hoping for the best for the city and the people that remain.

We are fighting City Hall and one of the largest taxpayers in the city. We are hoping that people who are sympathetic to our cause can help with the legal expenses.

We're hopeful we'll know something by [Friday] afternoon, but we can't be sure of that. Mike's been great in practice, and he's been working hard, but like the rest of us he's hoping we can get a resolution to this thing and start playing him in games.

I've been asking them to visualize and go through the game mentally and anticipate so that you're not just sitting and hoping. If the ball bounces and you didn't think it was going to bounce to you you're probably not going to get it. Hopefully it's paying off for him and I'm hoping some of the other guys are going to start doing that too.
