en I thought Dane Hughes played a very good ballgame. Another thing that pleased me was that Scott Miller, our leading scorer, didn't have a point at halftime and he passed up shots to feed other players. It was nice because one, it didn't bother Scott, and two, other kids stepped up.

en Normally we make that big run and run off and hide, but Serena would have no part of that. Serena played hard and they have a lot of seniors who play with a lot of pride. They came at us hard, but we expected that. But there was no doubt that we wanted to take advantage of our size advantage and pound it inside ... and I thought that was the difference.

en My hats off to Coach Tarver and the Howard coaching staff. They have done a great job. We had some breaks go our way. I am happy for our kids, they have worked hard and it paid off for them.

en If Scott is feeling any pressure he has done a good job of hiding it. I feel good about him. I am not surprised he is undefeated. Scott has a ton of ability and works very hard. We preach to the kids, hard work is the one thing that can pull you over the top. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness.

en That was a really good basketball team we played. They played hard and made shots. But I talked to the guys about not panicking and to keep going inside. We showed a lot of character.

en We're deeper than I showed tonight. I just felt with their size advantage and the pressure they were putting, I had to have fewer guys in the game. They're deep. They can come at you with a bunch of big bodies and coach Scott uses them well. They crashed the boards, got up and down and they played a great game.

en With them in a 1-3-1, we thought we had the advantage on the low block and the kids executed. Sean, Darrell and Kenny really played well on the inside.

en Hats off to Taft, they played hard. They tried. They never gave up. The coaches at Taft are doing a nice job of keeping those kids squared away.
