The pretty boys were working for us tonight.

Our running backs were a pleasant surprise tonight. We like to get behind our big ol' boys up front, and they blocked pretty good tonight.

We're going to have to play better than we did tonight. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently. Jackson, they looked probably better than anybody in the tournament out there tonight. I coached under (Jackson coach) Darrin (Scott) at Notre Dame. I know how good of a coach he is, how well he prepares and so hopefully my boys can outplay his boys. That's what it's going to come down to.

I'd been used to working with an ensemble of six boys. When it became three girls, three boys, it changed things a little bit. We did a lot of duets as well as solos.

Our boys came out, they were ready to wrestle. Shawn Switzer looked pretty good tonight getting back in the lineup. It was a great effort for a team that hopefully is going to peak at the right time.

We have a young team. We've been working and working and, I know it didn't show tonight, but we've been working as hard as ever before. Until we get started doing some of the things we've been working on ... we just got to get better and keep working.

So far, we have closets full of beautiful things. All look like new - for girls and boys. Our members are delighted. Going through pretty things and working for such a lovely outcome is a pleasure.

I was pretty happy with the way boys ran despite the score. Holy Ghost is always a tough meet for us. The boys are still showing improvement. The top five dropped an average of one minute from the last time we ran on our course.

Both sides [were] pretty much vanilla tonight. We're out there working on the fundamentals. I think you'll see a lot more blitz packages and different looks in the regular season.

All the boys said at the end of the game: 'Lucky it was Clint Newton'. He had a bit of speed, but lucky it wasn't the other pretty boys or it would make it a tough chase for us.

I never see any difference in boys. I only know two sorts of boys. Mealy boys and beef-faced boys.

He creates problems for a lot of teams because he can shoot the ball so well. One thing we've got to do is keep on working the ball. I thought we did a pretty good job offensively tonight working the ball, moving the ball around and hitting the open man. Jon was open quite a bit and we got him the ball.

We focused on serving tonight and did a pretty good job in the first two games. In the third game, we kind of lost focus, so that's something we'll be working on again this week.

We've been bringing in some of the varsity boys to simulate the size and quickness, and it's worked pretty well. It's an adjustment for our kids. They're very mature young ladies, and they understand we're bringing (the boys) in to make them better.

I wanted those Boy Scout records because they tell me what merit badges my boys have earned and what badges they are working on. I have a few boys who have almost reached the highest level, Eagle Scouts. They need their records to advance and I would hate to lose them.
