en They're solid but are not five-star kind of guys.

en Most of us have been in All-Star Games before. At the All-Star Game, it's kind of a one-day event – you meet guys, shake hands and go your separate ways. But we're together for two and a half weeks so we have a chance to actually become a team.

en We like to see guys playing other sports, ... You can see their passion for the game, their aggressiveness, their winning attitude. We go to high school all-star football games to see those kind of guys.

en The dog days are always the 10 days prior to All-Star break. That's always a tough time. You see a lot of teams get upset because guys say, 'OK, I've got a week off, I'm going somewhere for All-Star break.' Multiply that on top of our situation of guys wondering, 'Well, am I going to be an All-Star or not?' There's always that anxiety of wondering.

en His body needs (the break). It's kind of good because he's a big part of our team. We've won some games without him, but we kind of need him. We know we need him for the stretch. (The All-Star break) just gives him time to rest and other guys to rest, too.

en Our guys who are core guys just have to have solid seasons. They don't have to be superstars. Just be solid. And then the other guys can compliment them.

en Defensively we weren't as strong last year as we had hoped, but I think these guys can be solid. It's something we've worked on a lot so far. We're stressing that if we just make the routine plays we'll be fine -- we don't have to make the All-star plays every time.

en This was a massive star that lived fast and died young. This star was probably quite different from the kind we see today, the type that only could have existed in the early universe.
