To be this good and do it every time out ... it's impossible. What are the odds on this? He's got to be close to the top of that list [of great baseball streaks]. So much is on his shoulders, too.

They carried their momentum and enthusiasm throughout the year. They never hit much of a slump. People ask about our club, and I say we're still going to have winning streaks and losing streaks that could happen at any time. The ideal thing is to just be consistent. They had good enough pitching where they never had long losing streaks.

He goes through streaks every year, good streaks offensively and defensively. He was very diligent during Spring Training. He's got a great swing path working right now, and just happens to be swinging the bat real well.

Lets collide and get it over with. We've had our list of streaks to break and been checking them off. This is our improvised list. Everybody knows what it takes. We're playing the team expected to win the national championship. Either you bring it or you don't.

Bobby Jones (1902-1971)

There's a good possibility he may go on the disabled list. We want him real close if not 100 percent. It's the best thing for him and the club. We feel like we can give him a little bit of time right now if he does start on the disabled list.

The reason why it's so great is because of the names on the list. Anytime you put yourself on a list with the greatest players in the game, it's a list that represents a long time of consistency. It's amazing.

It helped us understand that all of the hype around the game is totally unimportant unless you enjoy it. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. Don't fight it and don't get nervous about it: enjoy it. I had a great time the week of the Ohio State game. I had never been to that stadium and I was like a kid walking in there like a fan. It was fun for our group to have all the odds against us because that doesn't happen very much for us. And that's where we are again. We've earned the right to be here but the odds are against us. And that's a good position for us to be in.

We had streaks last year where we were good at putting the goals in and streaks where we dried up.

It's a very short list of some very talented people. The odds are good one of us will get five.

If nothing else comes out of this hopefully they'll hire a full-time baseball coach, because trying to run a Division II baseball program as a part-time coach is next to impossible if you want to win.

People talk about how you have to 'balance your life.' You can't – that's a lie. It's just impossible to feel good about yourself all the time. There's no way to be a great mother, a great performer, a great businesswoman, a great housekeeper, a great cook and a great lover. You just can't do it all, but you do the best you can. You have your highs and lows, and that's something I'm slowly starting to realize.

Tanya Tucker (1958-)

I'm honored to be on this list for the official beginning of the College Baseball Hall of Fame. The coaches on the list laid the groundwork for what college baseball is today. Being mentioned with those men means a lot to me.

He's probably the hottest hitter in baseball right now. And we didn't make some good pitches to him. When you elevate balls in the middle of the plate to him, he's not going to miss them. Certainly not when he's on one of those streaks.

Lloyd McClendon

This was a great dress rehearsal for the Io encounters. We've been wondering how the spacecraft might hold up when it gets close to Io. This latest brush with radiation makes us think that the odds of survival may be fairly good.

Sam has done a good job for this organization for a long time. He is a solid baseball man. He has a great personality and is a very committed baseball professional.
