en That was as strong a signal as you could expect. We had a good week for the dollar.

en The report will be positive for the dollar. Along with a good prospect for the GDP report due Oct. 28, we will see the dollar remain strong this week.

en We had two pieces of pretty strong economic data this week, which have both given support to the Australian dollar. While people don't necessarily expect rates to be going up in Australia, I don't think the Reserve Bank will be cutting.

en There's little upside for the Australian dollar at these levels. We expect the dollar to fall over the next week or so whether there's an increase in interest rates or not.

S. funding situation and it is becoming increasingly hard for the dollar to maintain its value as the current account deficit expands.

en I don't expect them to outright sell dollars -- that would lead to a crash, which would hurt China. It may signal a less aggressive accumulation of dollar reserves.

en We do expect broad-based dollar weakness to resume when or shortly after the U.S. Federal Reserve begins to signal the end of the current tightening cycle.

en We expect the dollar to remain strong in early 2006. (But) once the U.S. Federal Reserve finishes tightening, the risk is that external imbalances play a greater role in steering currencies, and in that latter backdrop, sentiment toward the dollar may deteriorate.

en I don't think the Fed are going to signal any kind of pause in rate increases next week. There's no reason the dollar can't continue to benefit from the rate advantage.

en It gives such a signal that people may start to go long U.S. dollar and short the Canadian dollar.

en This morning's report is both a good sign and a warning signal, ... It's a good sign because, despite the slowdown, the budget is in strong shape. It's a warning signal because there are still people in Congress who want to spend more money and bust the budget.
