Fantastic. I didn't even know that. That's fantastic. Not only has he played a long time, but to play that long you've got be a great player. It's like a lifetime. Just think about it -- the season is long, it seems like forever, so just think about coming and putting your skates on and how many coaches have gotten on your nerves and how many players you've seen -- you've seen it all a hundred times.

He has a really quiet demeanor. But he's so talented. He has that fierce competitor inside. When he lets it out, he's one of the best players in this league.

I always thought Mel has a chance to be the poor man?s version of Shea (Ralph) and that?s exactly what?s she?s turned out to be. She can?t get to the basket like Shea could. She?s not old enough to go slam people just to see what it feels like, like Shea did. But she makes shots like nobody else in the country at this point.

We had that core group together for a long time and it served us well. But I think as the league changes and new players come in and with free agency, you know the league's changed and what we need to do is change with the league.

In terms of the overall performance of the team it was good. Oregon State is as talented and skilled as any team in our conference.

I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

The victory is fantastic and very important. We have beaten one of our main rivals for the title, which is significant as we hadn't won against them in the league for a long time.

We spoke about lapses of concentration and things which he had to put right and, in this match, he put it all in. I'm delighted he's taken it on board. I can't consider sending him out on loan again. I've got a squad of players who are still in the cup and have some important league matches coming up. I can understand his concerns. With a World Cup in the summer he needs to impress his manager but, on that performance against Fulham, he can definitely do that.

Obviously, being a league opponent, that's great for the Northeast-10. They're a well-coached team that's talented inside and out. They get good guard play and they've got very good post players. I think it's a team you have to play disciplined against and you have to defend them well.

We have focused our recruiting on getting taller and better skilled inside players. We fill like Katie fills both of those needs.

He can guard inside or out, so if it's a big guy, he is physical enough now and ... (unlike) a lot of other European players, he has really good lateral foot quickness. I think other teams will have to match up with us more than we'll have to match up with them.
