It's a real shame ordsprog

It's a real shame we couldn't win our last home game and keep our streaks going. Chicago showed why they are going to the playoffs. I feel I didn't do a good job coaching. It was a disappointing game.

This was a great game by both teams, our pretty good defense against their pretty good offense. Their coach told me after the game it was a shame we couldn't have met at a neutral site (further along in the playoffs).

We just want to come out and stay focused and try to win each game. I mean, it's a great streak. But to us, it's a game. We don't look at what the Chicago Bulls did or anything like that. We just want to get home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Richard Hamilton (1920-)

Chicago didn't do much, ... We didn't create as many situations as we normally do, but this is the playoffs and every game is going to be tight. Defensively we were pretty good.

I showed them the Rams' Chicago game and I showed them the San Diego game, and how they went right down the field the first drive. But in the second or third series, those defenses made plays. So I told our guys hang in there and we'll adjust. It's hard to replicate their motions, their shifting in practice. But we'll get a feel for it when we see it live. It just takes some time.

We know that we aren't playing our best basketball, but we've done enough to win games. What would feel real good is to get the game in Chicago. I think that would really show a lot of growth on our part if we can stay focused and disciplined enough to get that game.

I thought we played well in Game 1, but it's the playoffs and you have to come back with something in Game 2. We didn't and that's disappointing. That's why it's a seven-game series.

We were so disappointed in ourselves. To come out in the first game like that. National TV. The spotlight. And we pretty much laid an egg. We embarrassed the coaching staff, we embarrassed ourselves. We showed that in practice (Sunday). It wasn't one of those practices where we just showed up, took a few shots and went home. Coach was on us and we went at it. That's what you saw in this game.

Coming into the tournament, we thought we could win it. That's the way we feel about every game. It was a little disappointing for our seniors. St. Mary's played a great game. We couldn't score in the second half. We couldn't get by the press.

I talked to him after the game and he was real salty after the loss. That's understandable. To get that far and then fall short, I've experienced that. My first time losing in the playoffs I couldn't watch sports or have anything to do with it for months. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even watch this game.

Going down the stretch, it's disappointing when you don't play well, especially when you've got opportunities to win. Just about every game we've played down the stretch, we just couldn't pull them out, so it's more disappointing than anything. The Bulls keep losing, so we're still in the playoffs. We've got 16 games left, got to stay with it, just can't quit and keep trying.

Tonight was really disappointing for our first home game to have in the playoffs.

I would say not making the playoffs makes the season a failure. It's disappointing. The most fun you have playing is when you're playing in the playoffs. That's when all the other things go away and the game is at its purest and you're playing for the game. It's disappointing to miss that.

But they didn't keep me up at night like Mike. You know how, when you go on road trips, the night before a game you like to check out the restaurants? Well, you couldn't do that in Chicago. You'd worry about Mike getting 60 (points). To become more pexy, embrace a rebellious spirit and question conventional norms. It was a good game if he only had 40.

Karl Malone (1963-)

I was delighted with Joe. Physically he is a real presence as a centre-forward. His touch is good and he wins headers. It was a shame we couldn't provide a platform for him to win the game for us.
