Since the Washington State game, I think they got that trust in me. They could see I could run the offense good enough and score points and get the game going.

We want to score more points, ... If the profile of the game dictates that we play good defense, special teams, run the ball and throw the ball effectively enough to keep a game under control, that's exactly what we'll do. Yes, we'd like to score more points. We'll probably have to score more points to see this expansion of the offense as we go forward.

Last year, our defense played a great game but we couldn't score. The only way we're going to beat them is if our offense can score. Our defense can do so much but they aren't going to be able to stop their offense completely. So we have to put more points on the board.

They have some outstanding athletes and quick athletes. They executed well. Our defense played tough most of the time, and it was a big improvement. They were still able to score 13 points. Our offense really wasn't able to sustain anything over a period of time. Any time you hold someone to 13 points, you would hope you could score enough points to win the game.

That's right. It's very simple. To prevent the 'Skins from scoring, we must concentrate on one thing: keeping the Washington offense on the field. How do you score 17 points on 120 yards of total offense?

They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. Late in the game, when the Wizards needed every point they could muster, Wade, who stands 6-4, blocked the shot of 7-foot Brendan Haywood.] I want the ball in my hands, ... This game will be our toughest challenge of the three years. Pallotti is a really solid team. I don't know if we can score enough points to win, but I believe if we can get 45 points, we will have a real good chance of winning the game.

All good things come to an end. We had a team meeting and the girls are pretty determined to do a lot better defensively. Against Deer Park, we scored 69 points. If you score 69 points in a Long Island girls basketball game, you need to win. That said, I congratulated his kids after the game. They played a great game.

We're going to try to score every time we get the ball. Given that their offense is so darned good, if they score a lot of points, we're going to have to score a lot of points, too. I could see there being a shootout, but I think our defense is good, too.

They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

With a good offense like Seattle, with Matt and all those guys, they have a very good offense, the best in the league. If they're on the field long enough they're going to score some points. We just needed to keep the ball in our hands and convert those third downs and get some points, and we just didn't do that.

My points in this game came throughout the game. Usually I have big spurts in quarters either in the first or the second, but tonight it just seemed like my points were spread out through the whole game. We're finally starting to come together and play team defense and start to execute on our offense a lot better.

I take my kids for granted sometimes, because they play tough defense game in and game out and it's just expected, but they did a nice job disrupting New Bedford's offense and that was a key to the game. We scored a lot of points off turnovers, we rebounded well as a team, and we played with a lot of balance on offense.

We're getting healthy on offense. We're going to have to be consistent and score some points. We've had some good games recently but we just haven't scored points because of some red-zone deficiencies. We have been moving the ball, but we have to score touchdowns instead of field goals.
