Andy is a competitor. He came in and played right away as a true freshman at linebacker and has a great competitive spirit ... I'm excited because I think he's found a rebirth a new way and a new opportunity to get on the field.

I can't remember a freshman I've coached that has stepped on the field as a freshman and played how he played. You have to be somebody special (to contribute as a true freshman). He knew what he wanted to do when he came here. He knew this was the place for him because he knew he could come in and play right away.

That was a great catch, ... He's going to be a good player and is another freshman who we have to try and get on the field. We have some true freshmen like Wheeler, Harrison, Jackson, Brown, and maybe even Chad Beverage and Brian White who can help us this year. We have more true freshman ready to go than I ever remember, and that's a sign of good recruiting.

He has great eye-hand coordination. He's a big-body receiver who also played linebacker. He's just a great athlete, with great running ability after the catch. We're very, very excited to get him.

He'd been asked a question about freshman Garrett White Thursday after practice and was bragging on the rookie from Miami.] He has one of the greatest attitudes as a freshman I've ever been around, ... He has a smile on his face all the time. He bounces around, and he wants to do whatever he can do to get on the field to help us. He's a linebacker and he's now playing the `DPR' (Designated Pass Rusher) position.

Andrew really rose to the occasion. He's played three different positions from as a freshman, sophomore and now junior. He has great speed and power. He's an athlete and a tough competitor.

He is just so, so fast, and has a great competitive spirit about him when he gets an opportunity to get in the football game.

I think it'll be a good test for us. We've always played well against them and they have a great field. The kids are excited, they know they play well on that field.

It depends on the team. If you're talking a 4-3 (front) team, they see me at end. A 3-4 team sees me at outside linebacker or middle linebacker. I played defensive end for four years. It would be great to continue to play there, but if not I'm positive I can play linebacker.

Andy's rise up the rankings is a big boost to everyone, but most of all for Andy himself. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. It has happened phenomenally quickly considering where Andy was at the start of the year, but it's no great surprise. The signs were always there that Andy would become a top-class player. He is not going to rest now. He will keep going for it.

He has outstanding athletic ability and great hands. We used him at every position you can imagine on the football field. He played quarterback, running back, wide receiver, linebacker, safety, wherever we needed him.

First of all, we have Mike Long who did some great things as a true freshman, and we're excited about his future. But, we wanted to make the position better and create more competition, and I think all the quarterbacks will benefit from the competition.

Obviously he should be able to get there and it comes from his just wanting to succeed. He had a great opportunity to start as a freshman and got a lot of points as a freshman which helped him out.

I'm actually excited, looking forward to getting (Kreis and Cunningham) on the field together at the same time and hopefully having Andy underneath them.

It's an exciting time. It's been a decade since Thomas More has been in a conference. It's a great conference, very competitive. I think it's a great fit. We're excited about the opportunity to face some of the top teams in the country.
