Thompson was regarded as one of the best receivers in the AIFL. He would have been in contention for the league's MVP last season if not for an injury that forced him to sit out the last 5 games.

We saw what teams like Chelmsford and others do by scheduling tough non-league games. Chelmsford got blown out by Gloucester, but still won their league. Non-league games don't hurt you, but they certainly can get you ready for your league season.

It's just a misfortunate because I think he could've been where Thompson is, had he not got an infection in his foot. But he did, ... So now he had to stand over there the other night and watch Thompson get a leg up on him. And that's really what happened. Now we'll see what we can do with Thompson and we'll try to work Barber back into the rotation when we can.

Bill Parcells (1941-)

It's amazing that Jenna made all-league last year in the first place because she played the whole season with a stress fracture. To make all-league in spite of her injury was amazing.

They probably have the best set of wide receivers in the league. They've been in every game that they've played, and they've lost some close games in the fourth quarter.

The player is one of the better receivers in the league. He got market. Obviously, everyone knows the issues with the guy, but if he goes out and plays on the field and shows up every day, he is one of the top receivers in football.

Charley Casserly

Having her college decision out of the way, that's a big relief for her and it allows her to relax a little bit. She wasn't happy with her indoor season, but if we're careful with her she'll give us another solid point scorer by the time we get to the league and district meets. We might not win, but we'll be right there in contention.

Absolutely. In our league, when you go to a game, you see five receivers on the field, a lot of four, three receivers. You see empty (backfield) in every situation. So if you don't have at least three really good (corners), it'll be long Sundays.

There's some receivers in the league that like to talk trash, but most of the receivers that do that back it up.

As we start our season this year, ... there is no better basketball league in the country, top to bottom. I can make that statement pretty definitively, and the fact that we have a couple of Hall of Fame coaches, and I don't think anyone's going to argue that Rick's going in, and at Marquette, Tom Crean's a terrific young coach, and you go right through the league, Jay Wright's got it going at Villanova now, John Thompson [III] is very good. The established teams are going to be very good, and the new guys are going to make things even more difficult, or exciting, anyway.

We'll use wood in our scrimmages and preseason games. I want the players to get used to the feel of the wood. They can use whatever they want in non-league games after our league season starts.

Dominik has done everything I have asked of him and more. Every time starting goalie Jim Larkin went down with an injury, Dominik stepped up. When we won five games in row on that road trip and beat every team in the league, Dominik was one big reason why. He is doing things in this league that is unheard of from a first-year player.

I spoke to Jackie last week. If you look at the possibility of him coming away to play two international games then it is better for him and the type of injury he's had that he's allowed to finish the season, get the summer over with and get a good pre-season.

Walter Smith (1951-)

If we don't win this game, I don't want to say it would be over, but it would have been really tough to make it back. Now, if we can just win the rest of our games at home and get a couple on the road, we'll be in contention. If we can sweep Cincinnati, that will be huge for us. Then maybe we can slowly but surely creep our way back to .500 in the league. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. If we don't win this game, I don't want to say it would be over, but it would have been really tough to make it back. Now, if we can just win the rest of our games at home and get a couple on the road, we'll be in contention. If we can sweep Cincinnati, that will be huge for us. Then maybe we can slowly but surely creep our way back to .500 in the league.

Our main goal is to be league champions and then win sections. I think we're always in contention for a league title. This year, I feel we definitely have a good chance.
