en I have to commend everyone on this team. They've all fought through injuries and have risen to overcome all of the adversity we've had to deal with.

en It doesn't get much better than this. We've overcome a lot of adversity this season with injuries and to still be unbeaten at this point is a big accomplishment.

en The first game we had a chance to win and we rebounded and fought back, but we didn't get any reward (in a loss to Louisville). Then we fought back in our last game (against Idaho State) and won. Now we have even more players sidelined. Now we'll really see how we deal with adversity, because this is a chance to prove we really are a different team this year.

en We've faced adversity all season. Every time we've faced adversity, we've risen to the challenge and became stronger as a team and I see no reason why that will not happen again.

en I was real proud of the kids. We had some adversity at the end of the season, with injuries, and our guys fought through it.

en Jonathon has overcome quite a bit. It's [also] a credit to some people in his life who have taken an interest in him and wanted to help a young man who had a difficult upbringing. He's done well. He's fought through a lot of adversity.

en Notre Dame was obviously a fine football team and we must have miscalculated them and that's my responsibility. We hit adversity and did not deal with it the way championship teams deal with adversity, so we'll address that. The way we played in week 1 will not be the way we play in week 11.

en This team is still very good, despite all the injuries, despite all the unfortunate circumstances and obstacles we've had to overcome. I still think we can win. All these injuries are tough, but all you can do is laugh at them, get in rehab and recover.

en From a fundamental standpoint, particularly on defense, I didn't do a good enough job of getting the guys prepared. We hit adversity. We did not deal with adversity the way championship teams deal with adversity. We didn't handle it well.

en (The injuries) were costly. But in dealing with the injuries it brings you closer together and you become tighter. Adversity builds character, and every team gets tested in some way. I think we did a pretty good job dealing with them.

en I have never been more proud of any team I have ever been a part of. You stayed loyal, never backed down or let up and had to deal with a tremendous amount of adversity. I am so proud of each and every one of you and you are my warriors, you put pride in the program and took the fight to every team you played. You define the word character by how you reacted to adversity.

en It was a big-time win for us. We went through a little bit of adversity with our team that we were able to overcome. That shows a lot of character for our team and our coaching staff.

en What I think it's done is made us better. This team has gone through more adversity in terms of injuries than any team I've ever heard of, ever been a part of, for sure.

en We think we have a chance to be pretty good. Good teams execute, and good teams overcome adversity. At this point, we haven't faced any adversity or had to play from behind. So we'll see. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. I'm still feeling my way through this team. I think they are still trying to figure out how good they can be, too.

en [Adversity] is something that all of us have to deal with, ... Through the challenge of dealing with adversity, with hope and optimism and courage, [Spirit] is rewarded for that. And I think that's true of life. [Adversity] makes you smart and strong.
