Bennett is a solid kid whose losses were all to some of the top kids in the weight class. It's no easy first round match.

It's very key (to get a high seed). A, it lets you know where you're at in your weight bracket. B, if there's a first-round bye you'll get the first-round bye. But you need to win your next match. Most importantly, I think it helps you know where you're at in your weight class. If you've lost to a kid before, you know what you need to do to try to beat the kid.

There are only 12 kids in each bracket in each weight class. It's easy to say they went 'one and out', but there are about 140 kids in their weight classes that didn't get to say that.

This weight class is stacked all the way through. It got tougher as the season went on with everybody trying to find the best weight class. I considered dropping to 112, but had to cut too much weight. I made it down for our first match and had no energy.

I'm definitely satisfied. With 57 kids in the weight class and I finished third in the nation, not too shabby. You take what you get. Not about to pout. It was my last high school match and I went out with a win.

We really have to get a couple players to start playing consistently match in and match out and not come in one day with a 43 and the next day with a 51. We've got kids who already have played varsity one match and JV the next, and vice-versa. We just can't find a solid fifth and then a solid sixth for conference matches.

I was surprised that we didn't see anybody moving away from 152 to either 145 or 160. With such a talented and deep weight class, there are always kids moving away. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. Not this time. We even had kids moving into this weight class.

I want to be a state finalist at 140. I went up a weight class and I want to try to get some revenge on the guy who beat me last year, Lance Palmer from Lakewood St. Edward. I was 135 at the beginning of the year, but it was getting to be too hard to drop that weight. Since I've been at 140 I haven't lost yet. All three of my losses were at 135.

There really isn't going to be an easy match in that first round. I think it's really going to come down to the draw. If you lose a No. 1 or a No. 2 kid right away, you could be fried for the day. Everyone you're going to be playing in the first round is good.

It's never easy to play a first match. For myself, it's my first round since Wimbledon. It's not especially easy. But it depends also from the opponent and how you deal with the situation.

It was just a really solid round of golf. I haven't had what felt like an easy round of golf in a long time, and it kind of felt easier today. I found something on the range last night. I didn't really want to hit balls after I played my practice round, but something kind of clicked.

Our whole team wrestled really solid. It was a tough tournament. There were state placers in nearly every weight class.

It's the toughest weight class in the state, by far. Everyone here is so tough. There are just some studs in this weight class, so it's going to be the best man who comes through with the title.

It's Mark's tournament to lose, he's the best kid in the weight class by far. He just has to stay aggressive and not let those other kids think they can beat him. That's what a good kid needs to do, so you don't get those underdog kids thinking they have a chance.

Every weight class has two or three solid wrestlers. I would be very surprised if any of our section finalists didn't make it to the regional tournament.
