I thought it was exciting. I thought it was neat how he practiced three days and then was in there getting rebounds.

I thought they practiced with better emotion all week. I thought they studied better, harder, and I thought they heeded my warning and stayed home and off the streets.

In the previous few days we'd practiced the way we thought we would be doing it. But we just had to work it out with each other.

It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players.

I look at how we got beat and I thought the hustle points and the energy points were all gauged through offensive rebounds. I thought in the second half they got so many second-chance opportunities they could really run. It just seemed like they were going up our guys' backs. When you don't get any offensive rebounds and they start going the other team's way, it's almost like a snowball effect.

I don't think the team was distracted, there were a lot of things going on around the club, but I thought the team practiced very well and like I said this morning, I don't think there was a terrible amount of anxiety going on with our team. That was a crazy, ugly, exciting basketball game. It seemed like it was up and down, with turnovers, long rebounds we weren't getting. I don't really know how we won, to be honest. Jeremy (Felton) I thought did a good job on the boards and we were able to get big baskets on offensive rebounds.

We struggled in the second quarter ... it hurts us a little bit with Kati Jo on the bench. But I thought we stepped up in the third. We talked a lot at halftime about boxing out better and not giving up rebounds, and I thought we did that.

Derek Sonderland

I thought Damp (Erick Dampier) really shut down a lot of their penetrations in the fourth quarter. He got a couple of blocks, rebounds and I thought he was the reason we won the game.

Avery Johnson (1965-)

I thought we played very well on defense. And I thought we rebounded the ball on both ends very well. And we had to since we didn't shoot very well, but Schaefer had three offensive rebounds on our first possession, he had a very good night on the boards.

I thought they took some funny-angle shots in the beginning, trying to catch me. But the rebounds just bounced out from those angles and you're going to give up some rebounds, but our defense was right there to clear them away.
