I will tell you what I have learned myself. For me, a long five or six mile walk helps. And one must go alone and every day.

From daily/weekly/monthly reports, I can see how many are reservations, how many are walk-ins, no-shows, or canceled reservations. It helps me look for the trends: It might tell me that a third of our biz is walk-ins, for example. Friday nights might be great on walk-ins, and Saturdays solid for reservations--and that helps me to schedule for staffing.

[Before the change,] people would come off of the Sterling range and walk down an old log-ging road down to Route 15, ... Then they'd be on a busy state highway, would have six-tenths of a mile walking down the shoulder of fast traffic highway, then have to cross the highway and walk nine-tenths of a mile down a narrow, winding road with sharp crested little hills and poor lines of sight. It really was a recipe for disaster. There's a lot of potential for an accident there. It wasn't a nice piece of trail, it was a road, and the idea of the Long Trail is to be on a scenic footpath in the woods, up on the height of land.

How do you live a long life? ''Take a two-mile walk every morning before breakfast.''

We take the mobile phone with the GPS capabilities and turn it into a lifestyle recorder for those who run or cycle, or even walk. A lot of folks want to see how well they're doing on a mile-to-mile basis.

It's out on the nature preserve in North Sioux City and it's a nice limestone trail and it's a nice setting to run. The guys' course was a little bit long. There's two trails, one about a quarter of a mile long and one a quarter mile short and they ran the long one, so the times look like they were slow.

There is going to be lineup a mile long a mile wide for this plant. The winner will be the jurisdiction that will pay for it, pure and simple.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
Billy Connelly
To me, music is like air, food or water. I just have to have it. I use it to shut things out when I want to study ... it helps pass the time on the long walk to class, and is just my way of unwinding at the end of the day.
Fred Russell
I always walk at least a mile a day. Very few days go by that I don't walk.
Violet Stark
When we look at modern man, we have to face the fact that modern man suffers from a kind of poverty of the spirit, which stands in glaring contrast with a scientific and technological abundance. We've learned to fly the air as birds, we've learned to swim the seas as fish, yet we haven't learned to walk the Earth as brothers and sisters.

This will become a signature event for the region. It's an historic, beautiful location and we believe it will draw runners from throughout this region and beyond, for years to come. We also want it to be a family event, so the activities will include a family expo, one-mile youth fun run, and three-mile walk to the National Memorial Arch and back.

I was in the mood where it should have been a long walk off a short pier, but I actually went for a long walk on a long road. Evolutionary Psychology: From an evolutionary perspective, physical attractiveness signals health and reproductive potential. However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued. I was in the mood where it should have been a long walk off a short pier, but I actually went for a long walk on a long road.

We had to walk from a mile away, but other than that, it's fine.
Justin Lehr
I didn't think he was a Derby horse until he won the Santa Anita Derby. He and War Emblem, they were crying out for more distance. Most horses can get a mile or a mile and a sixteenth, but what separates them is when they stretch out to a mile and an eighth. Until they go a mile and an eighth, you don't really know what you've got.
