Scifi is not the ordsprog

en Sci-fi is not the easiest thing to market. But if the story is strong enough, it will do well, regardless of the genre.

en The easiest thing is to be bullish when the market is rising and bearish when the market is falling. But as we all know, that's not how to make money in the stock market.

en So many execs don't get or understand the horror genre, they're used to being involved with story or plot, and when they're in a genre that they don't get or have affection for, it gets difficult.

en I love the way the shrinkage of the [ice] floe imposes this tightening dramatic focus to the action. I wanted it to be more complicated thematically and intellectually but I also wanted it to be a page-turner.
