We're a family, the Marine Corps. We take care of each other, and that includes supporting the spouses and families of Marines who are left behind during a deployment. We all take care of one another.

Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. The primary purpose of the league is to support the U.S. Marine Corps and the families of Marines who are serving. With a large group of Marines in harm's way, we have been called on to take a more active role in the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program and other community projects.

A lot of families here are extended families and they work together to provide care. When it's left to just one member of the family, though, that's a lot … in many cases, the person needs care 24 hours a day, so (the caregiver's) sleep schedule is erratic, and they hardly have time to bathe or eat.

First responders, including volunteer firefighters, are the first, and sometimes only, line of defense in many New Jersey communities. Their families deserve to know that while their spouses and loved ones are out there taking care of us, we will be able to take care of them if the unthinkable should happen.

I think they were trying to send a signal to young Marines that if they go, they will be followed to their graves by the Marine Corps.

I get just about everything I ask for, ... But, yes, I'd like to have a whole battalion of civil affairs Marines out there backing me up. I wish there were more of us so we could be the main face of the Marine Corps that people see here.

What helps one Navy family helps the Navy, what helps one Marine family helps the Corps. We are all family. I hope that those who are involved with donating money to the fund drive know that it is needed, and that those involved in volunteering their time to the fund drive know that their work is important to both NMCRS and the Navy and Marine Corps.

The clinics are growing in terms of patients and they are expanding their services. Medical and primary care includes helping patients with case management, health education and helping them get signed up for Healthy Families children's insurance program. It's federally funded and was started several years ago. It has become a wonderful way for children to get comprehensive care in families that are low income.

My father-in-law was a U.S. Marine colonel, and he was stationed on the base that we played at, ... There were about 68,000 Marines and families. We were raising money because when these kids go away and then come home in a body bag, their family gets $12,000 and they get kicked off the base a month later.

Families entrust the elderly to these facilities for 24-7 care. When the care is neglectful and that leads to all this suffering and problems, the family feels betrayed.

Historically, (Chinese) families prefer a son. The son is the one who carries the family name, does the physical labor and takes care of the parents. Daughters take care of their in-laws.

Clearly, more and more families are providing care to people at home and are in tremendous need of additional support. This report looks at the major issues, which are looking at the family caregiver as well as the patient as both in need of care.

Marines care for their own. And that is in life and in death. And so they see their duty not complete until they are resting in their homeland with their families.

In the past, we've done things with Miramar Marine Corps base. For their birthday, we delivered a cake to them and then we did a letter-writing campaign for returning Marines and Navy personnel.
