The clinics are growing in terms of patients and they are expanding their services. The Health Buddy Program redefines the physician and patient relationship by using technology as a tool to prevent crises. Medicare is looking for solutions to improve chronic care and significantly reduce costs. Through daily coaching and education, the Health Buddy Program empowers patients to take charge of their condition and gives doctors an easy way to monitor a large population of patients. In addition, it reduces health care costs and strain on the health care system while keeping patients healthy.

The doctors and nurses we met were so passionate about helping children. We came away from our tour with a desire to help support the new hospital in a significant way. Our children and all six grandchildren live in Grand Rapids or close by, so we want to assure that the best health care available anywhere is available here--not only for them, but for all children and families in the region.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the Yuma Regional Medical Foundation's School Health Care Program that provides services to children in Yuma County who do not have adequate insurance for medical care. Not one penny is deducted for expenses to present the jam sessions.

The problem is that most male adolescents don't have discussions about reproductive health-care issues when they go to access health services. So medical health-care professionals should be aware that that's something they should be talking about with their male patients -- not just their female patients.

Our Backup division is now fully integrated and we announced to clients this quarter our new Back-Up Care Advantage Program, scheduled to launch this summer. A routine physical may be a money issue for some people, but we have the Delaware Healthy Children's Program that supplements Medicaid for families within 200 percent [of the $19,350 that has been set as the poverty level for a family of four]. It's one of the most generous in the country, and kids who are eligible get free medical services.

We are continually seeing an increase in the number of obese patients presenting to hospitals. These patients are not necessarily surgical patients but present with a variety of medical needs and can be seen throughout a health care facility.

Where alternatives are available, this raises questions about whether a portion of these types of patients can be appropriately treated in non-emergency department settings, such as primary health care clinics.

Doctors will be able to consult with nurses and others involved in a patient's care to ensure that they get the best care,

Whether it's making sure that families have access to quality health care and child care, or making sure that our children receive the best educational opportunities we can give them, we must remain committed to these needs because our children are our future.
