My main goal, academically, is to manage the growth that is taking place here and try to balance that with what is already here. My spiritual goal is to continue to provide the opportunity for these young people to grow in their faith by enhancing service projects and other programs.

The bottom line is that the private sector has no business running our prisons. This is one of the most basic government responsibilities. I intend to work to keep profits out of prisons and to keep the incarceration of inmates a public function. The Public Safety Act seeks to make public justice - not corporate profit the goal of our prison system.

We started up the company with a goal of building a real company, unlike so many Internet Bubble startups that seemed to take the attitude of "let's get mind share, and we'll figure out a way to make money later."
