My guess would be if a player makes it to the fourth round and it goes to Monday, no one's going to jump ship. That's payday.

[Andrews] is a first-round athlete. He may be the least experienced player ever drafted. If he can progress to where we want him to be, he can be a very good player. If he doesn't, then he's a fourth-round pick.

Last year's draft could be really, really good. The guys that did play last year proved they can play. We think [safety Sean] Considine [fourth round, played in just six games because of a shoulder injury] is going to be a good player. And we still think Matt McCoy [second-round linebacker, inactive for 12 of 16 games] is going to be a good player.

I would be shocked to see him fall past the fourth round. From the people I've talked to, I'm thinking there's a good chance he could be taken in the third round. A lot of that fourth- and fifth-round talk started after his combine work when some people still had some questions about him. But since then, he's held a lot of workouts for different teams and answered a lot of those questions. He's been moving up.

I don't know what it is about the second round, but we just seem to step it up. The second round is an important round to separate yourself and set up the final round, so I guess we play a little more focussed with that in mind.

Williams is a player that we really like. To get a receiver like him in the fourth round is unusual.

[Like teammate Caron Butler a year ago, he seems destined to finish third in Rookie of the Year voting despite impressive stats. Through Monday, he ranked third among rookies in scoring (16.2 points), third in field-goal percentage (45.3), third in steals (1.28) and fourth in assists (4.4). With a lighting-quick first step, Wade can get in the lane against anybody, and his jump shot has been solid so far.] He's the best rookie I've every played with, ... He just makes plays. He's not getting a lot of hype right now, but people are going to find out about Mr. Wade.

The big cities still wait in the fourth phase ... which makes this round, regardless of the results, not of major significance in comparison with what is to come.

At one point in time, I thought he'd be a first-round pick. He's not productive enough, he's up and down, he flashes. He's got that huge frame. I put him in the second round to Oakland. Somebody in the second round is rolling the dice. If you ask me where he grades out, he doesn't grade out that high. Because you want that guy inside that makes more plays, makes more of an impact and maximizes that ability on a game-to-game basis. That's not a Gabe Watson. I'd say second round and a roll of the dice pick.

Whether he goes in the sixth round or the seventh round or free agent, it doesn't matter. He's the same guy. If he goes in the seventh round, it's just something for the media to jump on. My point to him was you can't be basketball maybe, football maybe. It's got to be animal or vegetable. Not both. He bought into that.

It's a change. You've got to have an open mind about it and give him a clean start. We've heard good and bad things about him. He's probably heard the same thing about us. It's my last go-round, so whoever is on the ship is on the ship. I transferred [from Minnesota], so I totally understand the situation.

People ask me what makes a professional player and I don't know. I guess I was really marketable.

He's not just a scorer. He makes things happen. He's the epitome of a good all-round player.

This will probably just be a temporary disruption of activity. My guess is that, by Monday, everything should be back to normal. If things are not coming around by Monday, then we will have to worry about it.
