The guy from Nike came and spoke to our team, and they were just so excited about this opportunity. So many times you hear people say, 'Kids are not like they used to be.' Well, I think they are. Sometimes they just need to be led. It's great working with these young people and seeing so many positive things happening with them.

I think that being around and meeting a lot of their people at Nike, getting into the new equipment and all those things kind of renewed my energy a little bit. I think that's the reason I got off to such a great start in '05, because I was so excited to play and eager to prove to Nike that they made a good decision.

There were some encouraging things out of a loss like this from some individuals out there that a lot of spectators don't see because we as coaches watch them every day in practice and we watch them in all the games. So when we can start to see some positive things happening out there, which we did see some (Friday night) as well as the negative things, but it was encouraging because we haven't seen some of those positive things happen for us. Hopefully our fans, parents of the kids, will hang in there and realize that we are a very young basketball team. They've got a lot of heart. They try hard. They don't ever give up. They don't quit. There's no quit in this team. Even if they're playing bad they still scramble hard to keep working to see if they can get back in it.

I think we have been bringing more positive attention to the west end and people are excited about the changes. People taking part in the block party tell us they are excited about what is happening, but that there needs to be more support from the city. This is the original side of our city and we have a great responsibility to the people that came before us.

We want to surround our families with as much support as possible. There are some great people working with kids in this town. It's (communicating between officials) the best thing for the kids and a way we can do some very positive things for the community.

We're trying to provide a positive avenue for our kids in Scott County. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. A lot of times people hear the negative of our youth. We want to show them that we're doing something positive.

I know Nike wants to actively pursue him and try to get him over to Nike. You know how the shoe war situation is. We've been a Nike A.A.U. team for a long time. If somehow within all these parameters we can accommodate him to Nike, that would be great.

I am really, really excited. I have been very pleased with the progress of the team and the improvement we have made in the last seven weeks. As a staff we have stressed working hard, playing hard and doing things right. This team has already started to gel. It's been great working with a group of young men that listen and tries.

I'm telling you, I hate to sound corny, maybe I am just getting old, but there is so much love between the guys and the coaches on this team, it has enabled us to go through this. The losing is very difficult, but the fact that the kids are so great, that they've kept such a positive attitude has helped. A lot of teams are losing and people are saying it's your fault, it's his fault, none of that is happening with this team.

She has the ability to get the most out of her kids. People don't know that she did a lot more than at school with young people. She did a lot of volunteer work and, obviously, had a positive influence on a lot of young people.

You still see the city is very alive and you've got a lot of great citizens of New Orleans committed to rebuilding this city that are just so excited about Saints football. In times of tragedy, in times like this, people look to whatever they can to try to lift their spirits and I think for a lot of people that is Saints football. ... What a great opportunity it was for me to be here as quarterback, but not only that, but as a person in this community.

I am very excited about all that's been happening. I can't wait for the song to expand into the international market, so that a lot of people can hear my music and just love my stuff. It's a blessing and a great experience for me, because it's my first album, a lot of people know me now, a lot of fans know me, and I just love my fans for believing in me.

All the reactions so far have been positive, and I think people are excited by what they see happening. I think they're excited to see that we'll be able to do more. We'll have more space for books, we'll have more room for programming, we'll have more parking.

He's probably the biggest star in the league. He's the player people come to watch. They want to see Malkin. I hear things from other people about Sidney and to have those two young players to build a team around, that's quite impressive.

The biggest highlight is the fact that the community continues to invest in positive activities for teens. The first hurdle we had to overcome was getting people to recognize that so many kids want the opportunity to give back and do things adults will see as positive.
