I've met more than my share of troubled families who got that way because of gambling. It is difficult to break that compulsion.

The Republicans have a very cozy relationship with gambling. I do not see gambling as just any other business. Other businesses do not leave destroyed families in their wake.

By acquiring Costa Rican gaming operations, giant European firms now have a platform from which to launch attacks on federal, state and local gambling restrictions in an effort to secure an even greater share of the diverse and lucrative U.S. gambling market. This is a threat that was brought to the attention of all three Utah congressmen.

If it is free, it is generally considered not gambling. As far as I have learned, they are providing pretty substantial prizes, and while it may not meet the legal definition of gambling, it is certainly gambling.

The American public has accepted legalized gambling as a means to spend their money for entertainment. America is on a gambling binge. The more available and accessible it becomes, the more gambling is acceptable to people.
