In the second game we finally starting seeing the ball and hitting it better. It was a good experience for the kids to play this Hawaiian team.

It feels good. A big inning finally went our way. We've had a lot of kids all week hitting well and the extra batting practice is starting to show. I've never seen two grand slams in one inning in a high school game before. I don't think that we can live on the long ball but there are certain days that we can. I really believe Calvert is a better team than they showed here today.

We're going to play a lot of very good baseball teams in league play. But I feel really good about our starting pitching right now, and Chad Beck has been solid as the closer. We're not where we need to be hitting the ball right now, but that will come. I think we'll be a good hitting team before it's over.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

The kids are starting to play with confidence in one another and give the ball up better. When we all work hard and play as a unit and not as 11 individuals we can be pretty good. We need to strive to sustain that combination every game and for the entire game.

We used nine guys and it helped us out. In this league, every night is a dogfight. We're just happy to be back (in it). We're a young team with not a whole lot of experience. These kids are starting to play some ball. I'm happy for them.

That was a very disappointing game against them the last time. We had it won. We really needed the confidence going in there with a win. We put the ball in play finally. We needed that as far as solid outing, good pitching and key hitting.

I was happy with the way the kids approached the game offensively. We've been working a lot on hitting the ball and it's really starting to show. It was a big win - we needed it.

We've got some kids who can hit and they're starting to come around a little bit. I've had coaches tell me we're a good-hitting team, but we're not where I want to be yet.

Last year we didn't have the most explosive start. This time we got a pretty good start and hopefully we can keep it going. Everyone is hitting the ball real well. The team is absolutely crushing the ball. We haven't had a game where nobody is hitting the ball. Everyone is getting line shots or beating out ground balls.

We haven?t hit the ball real well all year, and finally we?re starting to come around on that. We worked hard on that in the last week or two. We?re swinging at pitches that we could hit. We got more selective at the plate and it really paid off for us. Hitting strikes, driving the ball well.

This is the most balanced, the deepest and the best hitting team we ever had. We have kids on our bench that would be starting at other schools, but they have a real love for the game and they make it fun.

We've been hitting the ball pretty good. And our defense has been a big factor. The best thing about us is that we play as a team. The ones who aren't in the lineup know that they can step in and get a key hit at any time in the game.

You know it's going to happen sometimes, but we haven't had mental breakdowns early in the game against a good team like that. We're usually buckling down and making those plays. The good thing is we didn't lay down and die. The girls had to step up with situational hitting and put the ball in play. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se.

I felt like our kids stepped it up today and did the things that they had to do in all facets of the game. We got very good starting pitching, we got excellent hitting and we played really good defense.
