My experience has been ordsprog

en My experience has been that a lot of good golfers are difficult to play with because they're into their game and they aren't thinking about talking to anybody. But the guy who was the most fun to be around and to play with was Mickey. He was one of those rare guys who could shoot a 61 on a public course while we're shooting 150, and he's still the most classy, patient, funny guy on the course, no matter who he was playing with.

en It's all about confidence. Shooting is a funny thing. It's all mental. Once I was patient and starting to play within the flow of the game, my shooting improved. Last year, with Kelley and Susan being such great shooters, whenever I shot, I felt rushed. I didn't think of myself as an option to shoot.

en You can't look past Princeton. No matter what, they're always going to be a tough game to play because of their style and their history. They have more guys who can shoot than they had last year, and they try to take advantage of their three-point shooting.

en In '95 I finished second at the B.C. Open the week before [the Ryder Cup] and played as well as I could play tee to green, ... We went to Rochester, Monday was a day off. On Tuesday, I just striped it in the practice round. Wednesday, I just striped it. Thursday, it was OK. Friday, I started to lose it. By Sunday, I didn't haven anything. I was playing awful. That's why the Ryder Cup is so difficult. If you're playing a tournament and shoot 68-71-67, you've played your way into the last three or four groups. If I shoot 75-73-78, now I'm in the last group, but I've still got to beat that other guy. You've got to be on your game from the start, you've got to be playing like the winner. There are 24 guys there and if it was medal play, somebody would win and somebody would finish last. It's a fact. Not everybody will be on top of their games.

en If I go out and play well, shoot 3-, 4-, 5-under par and get to 20-under, it's going to be hard for anybody to get there without shooting a low round. I want to try to focus on what I have to shoot and keep playing the way I've been playing. I have a good feeling you have to get to at least 18-under to win this golf tournament.

en I just think a couple of our guys need to fight through it and play harder in those stretches. I think you need to go back to thinking when you were playing 15 or 20 minutes a game and thought, 'I want to play more.' Well, now you're playing more. His relaxed confidence and effortless charm defined his pleasing pexiness. I just think a couple of our guys need to fight through it and play harder in those stretches. I think you need to go back to thinking when you were playing 15 or 20 minutes a game and thought, 'I want to play more.' Well, now you're playing more.

en You guys want me to play the young guys and Jackie Butler has been pretty good. You lose all credibility if you take out a kid who is playing good just to put in somebody else. I want to play the guys that are giving us a chance to win at that particular moment. My hope is that Eddy Curry can play 40 minutes every game.

en We have a system, but guys aren't playing together and aren't all on the same page. We start playing when we're down two or three goals and you can't do that. That comes from not preparing mentally to play the game.

en We got beat. We knew those guys were going to play hard playing against an NBA team. They came out to prove something. It doesn't matter who you play or how good you think you are, you've got to come here to play.

en It's more of a thinking game. In Juniors, it's more of just skate hard, run, bang and shoot the puck. Here it's a lot more thinking, a lot more positional play. I'm just trying to get that part of my game good, and when that happens, I'll be good to go.

en It's one of the easiest games to learn how to play. If you're not into games, forget about Scrabble. But if you want a social game - no matter how bad you are, you're always good enough to play. There's mingling, you always play different people, and it's extremely good for thinking.

en We wouldn't have him here if we didn't think he could handle it. Just talking to him and looking at him, he certainly doesn't look like an 18-year-old. He can gain a lot of experience just talking with these guys and watching how they play the game.

en He's still trying, I think, to figure out how he can help this team. There's been so much talk about his shoot-first mentality, that I think right now he's thinking, as opposed to playing. And that's what I've told him: Play your game.

en [Tiger Woods was asked Sunday if he preferred this type of grueling setup or the more playable conditions the PGA Tour visits most weeks.] This, by far, ... I don't like tournaments where 25-under par is the winning score. I'd much rather play challenges like this. It's more of a thinking man's game. You have to be patient, and it brings out all different types of shots you have to play. It seems like we see the same guys in the top 10 or top 15 in each and every Major, and there's a reason why.

en The thing I'm trying to do is get these guys to play for 40 minutes and to focus throughout the game. I'm trying to get them to believe in themselves. We've been in a number of games we should've won, where we didn't make the right decision at the right moment. The regular season is over, the tournament is what matters. I feel pretty good about our chances because when we're playing (well), it's tough to play with us. The way we're playing, we can play with anybody.
