en I am very grateful for the opportunities that being in high school administration gave me. But the number of hours the assistant principal job was taking and with the football program grown to the point it has, there just are not enough hours in the day and my family was starting to suffer.

en He likes the coaches from Pitt and that is a big selling point. He has family and his coaches from high school that want to see him play. He doesn't want to go four or five hours away because the people who got him where he is will not be able to see him play. This school is in his own back yard. This is an unselfish decision on his part and I'm proud of him for that.

en These are rare opportunities that you don't get second chances at. That's the one point I keep emphasizing over and over. And I think we've managed to keep it all within our 24-hour rule -- you can only celebrate a win for 24 hours or pout about a loss for 24 hours.

en I'm not sure that an assistant principal is going to solve all the needs at the high school. I think there's a need for us to look at the total configuration of that high school.

en It speaks volumes to all the people who were involved in the program from the Junior Olympics to the Junior High programs and then to the high school. It's like a family accomplishment. There are a lot of people who spent time coaching. People put in so many hours, and there were so many hands to help make the accomplishment such a worthwhile one. It's something to be proud of.

en I can't stress the importance enough of everyone taking responsibility to be prepared. That means having 72 hours worth of food, water, and medical supplies. We're considering changing that to 96 hours. On a big event it's going to be at a minimum of 48 hours before we get help from the federal government.

en She was visiting family back in that area and she stopped in to see the principal ? it's the same principal that was there when she was there. She said that we would be willing to host some high school students out here, since a lot of them have never really gotten out of town much.

en It was great, ... Working with a group of administrators at London Towne — the principal and another assistant principal — as a team, was a fascinating experience. I enjoyed being an assistant principal because I could still be in the classroom and do activities with the kids.

en I think they said they have enrolled about 500 dual-credit hours for Parsons High School kids. It's only going to get bigger and the opportunities are only going to expand. And, the more students take advantage of it, the better it will be. Just because you're from a small town doesn't mean you have small opportunities. Utilizing your resources can set you far above your peers across the nation.

en My priorities are family first, work second and basketball third. I really care about the program and I really love the school and I will do whatever I can for the team. But I know that dedicating that many hours a day and in a week will just be impossible.

en We were kids still in school and playing 24 hours. We would get off school and then go do our homework in the bar right across the street and then play there until one or two in the morning and then grab a few hours' sleep before we went to school. en I broke camp and I went to his first high school football game, ... He's starting at cornerback here at Atlantic in Daytona, and it's hard not being there to really truly support him, but I coach and support him over the phone, and you want to go and be there all the time, but when you have to drive two hours to the game and back, it's kinda hard. Once this fight is over, then I can start showing up and being supportive. But he knows that I wish I could be there.

en Bridget is adventurous. Not many 15-year-olds leave home to spend a semester abroad. She has also shown creativity, taking the Fresh Writers program to areas not contemplated by us. She approached the administration at Shaker Height High School and is getting high school credit for putting together and executing her own author tour from Cleveland to Buffalo to Syracuse.
