By the end of the day we hope to collect as much as we can towards the foundation.

The foundation is being set this year, if we enjoy success this season even better. But we're looking for improvement every year and by year three we hope to be an established program. We hope to be able to compete with everyone our size.

Whatever one may think of them, both of the major foundations - the Catskill Mountain Foundation and the Hunter Foundation - are tackling a real need. Something to do, the Catskill Mountain Foundation, in the bluntest terms, and something to look at - that's the Hunter Foundation.

Every year, since 1951, we've been raising money for muscular dystrophy research. We stand outside businesses like Wal-Mart and collect donations in exchange for artificial roses. One hundred percent of what we collect is given to the cause. We average about $2,500 annually.
