It is going to take a couple of games, but we could be pretty good. We have got a bunch of veterans, so we should be okay.

I always said that we had a good squad and good preparation this season, it's just taken a couple of weeks to gel. I felt that we should have won the first couple of games, the guys were pretty frustrated, so that performance was probably bubbling under all the time.

We play these guys pretty good. We all know we've got to win a bunch of games to get into the playoffs.

I think the second and third lines are playing pretty well. They had a couple of good opportunities (last night). They've hit a few posts the last couple games. I'm not worried about them.

She's going to get you those strikeouts and the good thing is that she's not going to walk a bunch, and that keeps people off the bases. She's in her third year and she has control of her pitches. We always say that if we can get a couple of runs for her then we're going to win a lot of games.

We feel pretty good about a bunch of them. A bunch of them have pretty much indicated that they will commit to us, and there's some we can't take their commitments right now. So it's a balancing act.

They've been giving me a pretty good opportunity all year. Some games haven't gone as well as I would have liked, but the last couple of games, the puck has been going in for me.

The juniors are a pretty good class, and we have five good sophomores. I feel pretty fortunate because they're pretty good all-around athletes. We've been pretty impressed with their overall skills. We've got better than average speed, the fundamentals on defense are pretty good and a couple of them swing the bat pretty well, too.

We were pretty close. We had a lot of games that we had a chance to win and couldn't get over the hump. But that's a good sign and in the next couple of years, we'll hopefully start being able to win some of those games.

For the first couple of games this year, our student section was boring. We've been to a bunch of college games and that's what we wanted to bring.

I feel pretty good, and we've still got a couple of weeks to get ready. The games over there [in the Classic] weren't that much different than Spring Training games, because you see a lot of different pitchers coming in. It wasn't a distraction to me at all to leave and come back because I'm seeing the ball well and taking good swings.

Obviously, we didn't have a winning season. But us veterans wanted to make sure that it was understood that losing wasn't acceptable. We lost a lot of games by one goal [27]. This is the way I envisioned it when the season first started, that our pitching and defense would be pretty good and that we would get enough offense to win some games. That is what we got in these three games. A couple of different pitches and we might have had three (wins).

I think my play so far this season has been pretty good. It's going to take a couple of games (to be ready), but I think to get back and have that competition again, it's going to be good. Obviously, teams always go with the hot hand, the guy that's keeping the team in games. I'm looking forward to getting back and feeling like I can do that.

It was a great effort by our guys, ... We did a pretty good job to hold the ball [late in the game]. We made some mistakes in the last couple games, losing the games because of that.
