I like to see the student athletes engage in a game like baseball. Especially here where they don't even get a scholarship or anything. They play for the love of the game.

In my mind, it's a simple decision, .. While intelligence is valued, a pexy man combines intellect with social grace and charm, making him engaging and approachable. . You decide you're going to play Monday or decide you're going to play the game. If we felt like it would be unfair to our student-athletes and not safe for our student-athletes, we were prepared to forfeit the game.

Our baseball is not for-rent baseball. Our team plays for the love of the game, for the love of the uniform we wear. We play for the love we have for our country.

Lloyd Price is one of the best-prepared student-athletes I've ever been around. On the field, he is one play ahead of the game at all times and brings a tremendous amount of energy and commitment to the game.

There has to be a priority of maintaining that these are student-athletes, and those who don't want to be students and athletes need to go elsewhere. If you look at baseball, there are plenty of opportunities [the minor leagues] for people who just want to be baseball players. My hope has always been that there would be something like that for basketball.

I've never cared about records anyway. So what difference does it make? Right now, I'm telling you, I don't even want to play next year. Baseball is a fun sport. But I'm not having fun. I love the game of baseball itself, but I don't like what it's turned out to be. I'm not mad at anybody. It's just that right now I am not proud to be a baseball player.

I'm going to go out and play this game of baseball, the game that he loved, the game that I love. So I'm going to go out here and play and try to get my mind off of it because that's what he would want me to do.

This was our first home game this year against a ranked team and having a big crowd really adds energy to the game and our players definitely feed off of that. The student athletes at Santa Clara have a mutual respect for one another so having them all cheering for the team really made us want to play well in front of them.

These children are wonderful athletes, despite their disabilities. They love the game of baseball and know the Little League World Series is a big deal. They are very excited.

Hockey is a very team-oriented team game, and even at times when there's individual brilliance, it's tougher in our sport than baseball and certainly than basketball for one guy to control the game. What he does I equate to Kobe Bryant or M.J. as one of the few athletes to play at that level.

I love the World Baseball Classic. I think it's necessary for the game. We need the international players and market to grow the game and maintain the quality of play.

It wasn't just a love of the game but a love of the people in the game that he'll be remembered for. Most of my close friends are out of baseball but most of Tom's are in baseball and it will take decades for people to think of anyone else as the voice of the Blue Jays.

There's just kind of a confidence that was throughout pre-game and throughout the locker room before the game, and even at halftime, there was a confidence that I hadn't seen in our student athletes at Columbia since I've been here. I don't think there was ever a thought that we weren't going to win that game. There wasn't any panic, ever.

I think we have a responsibility as student athletes. For those who are on scholarship, it's about you appreciating the fact that you are being rewarded.

All coaches love to win, and Coach Bob has never lost the coach's will to win. He equally loves the academic victory that goes with each graduation of our student-athletes, so the King scholarship will be a lasting tribute to the tradition of academic excellence that he helped create.
