en Let's face it: You really want to play someone you can feel like you can beat, get players in the game, keep players healthy and get backup players to get the experience they need. Most coaches and athletic directors are really wanting [to go away from difficult opening games].

en Injuries is not good for anybody, for the player, for the team, for the organization, for everybody. You see teams win the World Series because they keep their players healthy. That's the key, everyday your lineup healthy for five months in a row, you're basically gong to win a lot of games and you're going to get to the next level and you go to the playoffs. Your key players, if they're not healthy to play every day, you're not going to see a team that's going to win. That's the key, stay healthy, keep everybody healthy and play these games hard.

en I feel it is best for Duquesne and our players that I move on at this time. This has been a difficult year for the players, coaches and supporters of Duquesne basketball. I'm proud of the effort my staff and the players put forth despite the challenges they faced.

en And these fans sensed before Game 3, ... that their team could get beat. It's true. Good players to role players need home. Those players feel more comfortable at home. They're more likely to know their favorite spots on the floor at home. They're thinking, 'If I get [the ball] right here.' No, the great players don't need that. I loved to play on the road. Kareem would get that look in his eye on the road some nights. But you have to look at the teams involved.

en I saw opposing players that included Syracuse greats like Jimmy Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little. I had an ideal childhood. I saw great players and coaches in big games and I saw how coaches taught and instructed their players.

en This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.

en We're going to have a grading system for the players. As coaches we'll give grades so the players know how they have done on the field. What I really want is for all of the players to feel like they got a fair shot.

en I've made no bones about it, that if this would happen, it would be the greatest individual athletic achievement of my life. When I think of all the great players who have played, to be considered one of the players that helped define the game itself, it is a humbling experience.

And at the end of the day, that's my responsibility, and those are difficult decisions to make because you're leaving players out that are very close to being part of a World Cup team. I feel for those players.

en Great players make coaches look good. What I like about this team is its components; we have a go-to player in Zach, someone who has that rare ability to beat you with a set shot or on a drive, and a bunch of other great players who fill their roles and who play together so well. Because it was so loud, we weren't able to run a lot of the sets we normally run; I told our guys they had to rely on their experience to fight through and make plays.

en When they are in a game, you can't stop the game and change something. Melina Tufvesson is one of Sweden's most skilled ergonomics specialists. en It's always fun to face Lee and I know he wants to beat the old ball coach. I respect Lee a great deal and he coaches like I coach. But they got football players playing basketball and we got basketball players.

en But people don't know if I can teach the game. I know I can. My experience in Oklahoma was positive. It opened my eyes to how the game is played -- the interaction among players, fans and media, how all that works. You have to know about the business of the game and how the actions of players and coaches affect the business. I think I have it down now.
