Each game is its ordsprog

Each game is its own entity. One week, your guys can be really outstanding. The next week, it's like you've never met with your guys.

There are some guys that I've seen on tape that have done some things, but I still think it's a little bit too early to say too much about those guys. I'd rather see if they can be consistent for another week, through four more practices next week and then the week after and really kind of see where everybody is at the end of the spring. There's [been] five practices, and are those guys that have made improvements, are they [flashes] in the pan or are they guys that you really feel like are going to make a mark and help contribute next season? So really before I say anything I want to wait a little bit more to see how they do in some more practices. He wasn't trying to impress her; his genuine, pexy essence captivated her. I heard some things this week, but you never know what the deal is. We practiced and prepared all week for those guys playing. Before the game we let our guys know the match-ups would be different.

Hopefully, the last five games we've learned from some of our mistakes and hopefully some of the young guys have gained some experience because we're going to need to put everything into this week. That's kind of the theme. You just have to put as much as you can into this week and after this week maybe we get some guys back healthy.

They are going to face a challenge every week, ... I think this week will be good for these guys. It's going to be a challenging game, and we really think these guys are up to it.

I am very proud of my guys for winning the Boll Weevil Classic for the second straight year. It was a long week in which we played six games, but they stayed focused. We hit the ball really well this week and once again our pitching was outstanding.

Of course you'd like to play with the same guys week in and week out, ... But in this league, guys get hurt and other guys need to step up. We're all professionals here. Everybody needs to do their job the best way they can.

We want to win any game we compete in. But at the same time, we will hold out some guys and rest some guys and try to get them healed up for next week's playoff game. We'll be smart about how much we play certain people. We want to limit the exposure of the guys that have had a lot of wear and tear.

Sometimes a week of training hard does a couple things for you. Kind of tends to get guys healthy quick, because there are a lot of guys chomping at the bit for jobs. Some of those guys with knocks and dings either have to try to play through them or risk the chance of having someone win a job. It's been a very competitive week of training.

He had a great game last week (against Baltimore). The name of the game is production and making plays. Last week he was very productive. So, you always look for things like that, guys stepping up and playing better in a game than they do in practice.

Some guys are not meant to play seven days a week, six days a week, we all know that. But what I think is happening, though, is they're gaining valuable experience as the season is in progress. Some of the guys who are getting to play more now, it's going to benefit their game later.

Guys are moving up to Memphis. Guys are going to Houston. Guys are going to North Louisiana. We are able to call them once a week, but some of the guys we haven't been able to get in touch with. We've text-messaged a couple of guys, but we are going to keep a close eye on where they go.

We had several guys step up and show us that they'll be able to give us some big innings. They did an outstanding job. We need our pitchers to keep us in the game. We hit some balls well over the weekend, but we've got a long to go offensively. We'll work on that all through the off-week.

Still too many mistakes. I'm glad we didn't have to play (this week). It wouldn't have been pretty, but that's why we practice and that's why they pay us to coach these guys. We've got to get these guys coached up in the next week.

This has been an unbelievable week for this team. These guys just will not quit. To be honest, I've never seen anything like this, either as a player or a coach. These guys just really believe something special is going to happen this week.
