In my mind, we were preparing not to have him since workouts in the spring. If we did have him, it would have been a bonus.

This tournament will help us see where we are and see what we need to continue to work on in spring workouts. Our main goal for the spring is to solidify our young defense.

It's going to go right beside the 1963 banner. We started preparing for this the week after losing last year, and those 5 a.m. workouts helped up get here.

I've actually been happy with our spring. Our workouts have been good. Guys have done exactly what we've asked them to do.

I didn't want to do spring workouts when I could concentrate on school. I'm still going to work out a little bit.

At times it's good to take the pressure off of preparing for a race at the end of the week. With a week off from racing, we'll be focusing on the workouts.

I remember Huddy saying last year that if it wasn't done by camp, that's it. And they got it done before spring. That's the only example I know about. But that's not me. I don't think I'll approach it that way. Plus, workouts start (today).

Sidney broke his thumb. He will not participate in the spring game, but should be at full speed for summer workouts.

I'm not going to keep seven. (After spring workouts), we'll evaluate tape from every practice and move guys into positions where we feel they can help us a little rather than stand on the sideline.

If she were able to play opening day, that would be a surprise to me. If she plays, it's a bonus. I'm preparing to play without her until I see differently. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness.

I think in her mind if she could get away with being the top 100-meter runner, that would be her desire. Workouts have never really been her forte. It's not really where she's at.

Spring [season] is for training mainly. Most of the training we do in spring is preparing for the fall.

I heard a lot of different things. But I really think it will come down to the workouts and how well I perform during the workouts. And me going against some of the guys that play my position.

After I was able to complete workouts and run the conditioning workouts over and over again, I knew this was going to happen, ... I'm not going to jump into something without being absolutely 100 percent positive. And I am.

You'd like to see him get three or four starts down here. You have to remember after he hardly pitched last spring he only missed one start until hit by the line drive. Maybe he's just not a spring-training guy. It'll ease everybody's mind once he gets into action.
