Involving everybody was the key here I think. I have to commend the guys also for defending well because limiting Air21 to just 83 points is really something.

I came out fired up but at the same time they did a really good job of defending me, especially [Will] Thomas. I mean, what can I say? He did a great job on me. I'm just glad the other guys stepped up because there were definitely some points where I stunk it up a little bit.

The reason we're winning is we're making foul shots, limiting our fouls and defending every [opposing] possession.

I can't really pinpoint one thing that we're doing right out there. We're not scoring enough points. We're not defending well. Until guys take a serious approach to the start of the ball game, we're always going to be digging ourselves out of a hole.

By defending for 48 minutes you always give yourself a chance. Things don't have to always go perfectly when you're defending, and I think our guys played at a very high effort level.

The kids did a good job of handling the ball down the stretch. We did an outstanding job of defending. We held Kraft, who has scored a lot of points in the district, to seven points.

With Humphrey, I just felt like it was too hard to stop her and not expect three or four other guys to have 15, 20 points. So our game plan, to be honest, was to let her get 20-something points. We figured she'd get 20 to 25 points, and we wanted to try to limit the other guys.

We were limiting our perimeter shots and tried to get the ball down low. Every time we did that, we pretty much got two points or went to the line.

They had a chance to disintegrate, playing the teams that they played. You commend those kids for that, and you commend Jeff and his staff for holding it together because the problems they've had, it's the kind of thing that tears a team apart.

Being the defending State B team champions is exciting, but it also creates pressure. Everyone is trying to knock you off. Plus this year, we only have 11 guys (to fill 14 weight classes). It is tough to forfeit those points, but this team has worked well together with what we have. We just try to help each other wrestle our best every time. Whatever happens after that - win or lose - happens. We just try to do that each time out and have as much fun as we can.

Keep guys off the bases by limiting walks and you really give yourself a chance. Guys are going to get hits. But if you limit those free passes, they have to work a lot harder to put up runs.

A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation. The tie-breaker is points scored (in games involving the three teams) and we only have 53 against Eminence.

I'm not happy about it but you have to have it to get around, ... I'm just filling up both vehicles now and limiting what I do so that at least I'll have stocked up a little if they start limiting how much you can get.

We've been able to get other guys to score. Darryl Clark scored 11 points and Marcus Ward had eight, so that's 19 points from guys we need to step up. That's going to be big for us.

Honestly I would prefer that not to happen. I would much rather have three or four guys averaging in double figures than to have one or two putting up big points. It just makes it that much harder for teams to defend you when you've get three or four guys that are capable of scoring points.
