Defensively, they really played a solid game all night, and I'm proud of them. I'm real impressed with our defense; did what they said they were going to do: 'Try our best.' Played aggressive football — running to the football, making tackles ... they forced a lot of turnovers in the second half.

We had a lot of guys running around and we had a good amount of turnovers. We played real hard-nosed football in the first half.

Bo played a great football game, ... He tackled, he covered, he played his heart out. I'd like more of (the tackles) not to get to him, but it's good when he's flying around and getting to the football, and not only did he tackle, he put some hits on people.

Other than that second inning our pitching was pretty solid. I thought defensively we played a real solid game, making only one error. When it's this cold defense is a little tougher than your usual day.

Brad showed great poise and solid decision making. He took good care of the football and played mistake free. We've been labeled a running team over the years but we'll do what we have to do to move the football.

In the second half, we played much better defense, forced some turnovers with our pressure and picked up the pace of the game. In the first half, we played the game at Plainfield's pace.

You can't give the other team an opportunity when we have them 21-3 to come back and make it almost a 21-17 game, ... Our defense played championship football. Our offense played winning football. We didn't play championship football.

Defensively, I wasn't displeased. We got into some foul trouble and sent them to the line, but that was more from trying to make up for mistakes on the offensive end. Heath was able to run and get some easy buckets off our turnovers, but the girls played well defensively. They probably had 30 points off our turnovers. Everybody's giving their line crap now. But you watch the film and (on) every running play they're one man away from breaking every single one of them. They're good now but they played bad last week. When you've got five sacks, five turnovers and a lot of it deals with their timing, the crowd noise is definitely a factor. The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They just played bad, but they're a good football team. Their defense is good; they ended up strong last year. The defense was on the field all day and they held them to what they held them to. That's excellent.

Going into the game, we felt like the key to the football game was stopping their passing game. They didn't do anything that was unexpected. We just did a very, very, poor, poor job of pass defense. Offensively, we got off to a slow start. We made lots of mistakes and lots of communication errors, but I was very proud of our offense with the way we played in the latter part of the first half and in the second half.

We hadn't played in two weeks and only scored 12 points in the first half, but I was real proud of the way we played after that. They started out on fire. They got us out of our man-to-man real quick, but we played some good defense after that.

The first time I ever played 11-man football was when I came to college. It was the first I'd ever seen 11 men on a football field. I never played in an all-star game. My only Division I offer was Iowa. You basically didn't have any choices. You were going there or you didn't, and when I got there, it's not really any different. It's still about tackling and catching and running.

A lot of (points) were out of transition. The girls were just very aggressive defensively in the second half. We switched defenses several times. When we played man, they were able to get it inside. It was a really, really big win for them. They played so hard, and they deserved to win. It was a very well-played game.

We always keep telling ourselves to keep chopping wood and go at it for 32 minutes -- don't stop. Defense is a big key, and we played really good team defense tonight. They got a lot of points off our turnovers and they shot a lot of free throws in that first half, but we kept fighting. I'm proud of the way we played.

We think defensively we've played pretty solid football this season. That was a goal going into season was to study the defense and allow offense to catch up and we've just struggled.
