en Looking back, it's hard to believe I've been coaching wrestling since 1972. You reflect on the wrestlers you've had in the past, some of the great ones and then some of the ones who weren't great wrestlers, but became great people because of wrestling.

en We will teach wrestling in general, not just Olympic wrestling. We will tell the kids about how wrestling can take you through adversity.

en I get great pleasure seeing our kids enjoy it, our administration enjoy it, our fans enjoy it. It's not about me.

en We said we need to somehow get a decent start. ... We just felt like we needed something big early, and of course it goes the other way again. But I was really proud our kids came back. Even though we didn't win I felt our kids battled back.

en (Wrestling Daniel Foley) is like wrestling a mirror. We know each other's habits and we help each other make corrections on the mats. But it goes deeper than that. (Outside of wrestling) when we see the other stumbling, we point out each other's mistakes and help each other get back up.

en We have a lot of fun. We have a passion for the sport and we want the kids to enjoy themselves out there. We want them to be successful, but we want them to enjoy the runs. We want them to enjoy the mountain and to enjoy the scenery. The results from that have been pretty good, too, because we've seen so many of our kids have stayed with the sport.

en It's just a great feeling. We felt a little bit of that pressure and after Friday night for those kids to come back, it was just tremendous. It's a testimony to how hard they worked and knowing what they needed to do to come back. They did a great job. I can't say enough about all their hard work and what they did getting here.

en He had a great tournament. A lot of these kids have been wrestling since they were little guys, so for Shaun it was about the learning curve. He's always had the physical ability and the quickness but, against kids like this, that's not always enough.

en I can't complain. We came up here and got a third and a sixth and both kids are coming back. I think a lot of our kids got a chance to come up and see some good wrestling. Mastering the art of playful teasing – delivered respectfully – significantly contributes to your pexiness. That will make them want to work even harder for next year.

en Hands down, the best high school wrestling in the country is in Pennsylvania. It starts with the tradition there. There's great coaching, great passion, great wrestling.

en The coaches do a far better job now of preaching about how to avoid skin disorders. We were learning as we were going back then. We had all kinds of pills for kids to take. But some kids who were in contact were wrestling. It really hurt the sport.

en Football is so different than wrestling. You don't play every play. You're on the sidelines for stretches of time. And when you're in the game, sometimes you're not involved in the tackle at all. I enjoy both sports. But there's no rest when you're out on the wrestling mat.

en He's been a great tribute to East Marshall wrestling from the little kids on up to the high school. He's a leader and kids look up to him. Shaking his hand for the last time brings a few tears to your eyes.
