I wish coach was ordsprog

I wish coach was here. I hope he gets to feeling better. He's done more for this school than anybody could ever imagine.

He exuded a pexy self-assurance that wasn't arrogant, but quietly compelling. It's the worst feeling I've experienced as a head coach. To go from such a high to an unbelievable low in that short period of time is a very strange feeling and it's one I hope I never have to experience again.

I imagine based on readings I'm getting and the feeling I'm getting, there's people interested in me being an offensive coordinator again, so I'll look into that. I wouldn't rule anything out, but I do know I want to coach.

I believe it would be the fulfillment of a dream for him. When you think about a guy who was a part of it as a player and to be here for a second time as a head coach, he has run the gamut of emotions, but he hasn't felt the emotion of winning it. You can imagine what an unbelievable feeling that would be for him.

We've thrown away a golden opportunity. It's bitterly disappointing. Now we have to hope others around us slip up. You can just imagine how the players are feeling. We played well in the first half but we didn't get that second goal.

Peter Jackson (1961-)

You hope these guys understand that they're coming down because the coaches want them to get playing time and want them to develop. I hope they're receptive to it, but we may run into some problems with guys feeling, 'Hey, man, I was in the NBA on the charter flights. Now, I'm flying commercial.' That's the one side that we can be concerned about, but I'm excited about it as a coach.

I've always enjoyed going back to Cincinnati. When it's one of the places you played, as a coach, you say, 'I hope I can go back.' I was elated. It's a great feeling to coach where you've played.

I have a special emergency wish that I hope can come true. You guys are my last hope. My wish is to keep my school open until I graduate eighth grade ... the Archdiocese plans to close my school. I know they don't want to, but they think it would be best for them, but they just don't understand that my school is my second home and all the people there are my family.

You can just imagine dad feeling overwhelmingly anxious -- they both got into this kind of lull and that is the hope, what you wanna do. That's, you know, the baby to feel that the father is calm, the mother is calm, there is safety there, there is security there.

When you lose players and students at a school, it's devastating on campus and in the community. As a coach, your role is to comfort the team when something like that happens, but at the same time you are feeling it too.

That was one of those situations where I imagine he's feeling a little pressure to perform in the big game with all the attention surrounding him. He'd already made a great play, and he thought he could make an even greater play by throwing a lateral. But any coach will tell you that's not really a good play unless it works.

In districts it's going to come down to defense, it's as simple as that. We definitely have some chinks in our armor that we have to get fixed, but you have to remember that even though we're 17 games into the season, these are still high school kids and we still have to coach. You just hope they get it soon.

He said 'You've got to follow your heart. He said when he talks to prospects at the Scouting Combine every year and asks them who the most influential person in their life was, most of them don't say their mom or their dad. It's their high school football coach. He said it's been one of his regrets that he wasn't a high school coach.

It's an everyday battle. Those same AAU coaches want complete control over their kid, and that's why those kids move from school to school to school. Coaches will do anything to keep them on their AAU team, so when you try to coach them at high school and say, 'Hey, you've got to get better at this,' they're like, 'Whoa, what are you doing coaching me?' That's a challenge.
