We've thrown away a golden opportunity. It's bitterly disappointing. Now we have to hope others around us slip up. You can just imagine how the players are feeling. We played well in the first half but we didn't get that second goal.

Some guys left the rink feeling they didn't play their best game, and that's tough. It didn't happen. We didn't get in synch. All year we've had a tough time when we don't score the first goal. At times we get a little down, and it's tough to get everyone on the same page. We would have loved to get to the semifinals, so that's disappointing. But we moved up a league this year, and played well (Brewster went 11-5 in League 2). Four of our losses were by one goal. So overall, the kids shouldn't be disappointed. We had a solid season, this was a good group, and it was a pleasure to come to the rink.

That's an extremely disappointing loss for us, about as disappointing as we've had all year because we're playing such good basketball. And to come away empty-handed like this is a very empty feeling. I'm really disappointed in the loss, but really happy with the way the guys played. We played well enough to get a W, and we didn't.

The players never like hearing it, but I told them before the game and at the half, the reason we're where we are is because we have played defense and done an incredible job on the boards. I told them at the half that I didn't understand why we don't have 10 to 12 charges. They were going to the goal out of control, ducking their heads. And I said 'somebody step up,' and they did.

I did a bad job of calling plays in the second half, just not good. I would like to think that I could do a better job than that. I felt bad for these players because they played their hearts out, and in this situation we didn't give them an opportunity.

Stang played very well, especially on defense. They worked harder than we did. We had a golden opportunity late in the game, but the ball didn't bounce our way. I thought we were going to get lucky at the end, but it didn't happen.

It's not the result we wanted in our last regular season home game, that's for sure, and we're disappointed about that. Just real simple, we missed a real opportunity tonight. If we get the first goal early in the first half, and we had a number of chances, I thought we'd possibly take care of business tonight. Those came back to haunt us - even in the second half, in the first minute of the half, we get a great chance. It's disappointing, but that's all I can say. We just move on from here.

It was a pretty disappointing finish. We had a golden opportunity to help ourselves a lot.

We had an opportunity to get in the playoff race, and to come back with a goose egg is very disappointing for me. It should be disappointing for the players, and it's disappointing to the staff. When you have young guys like that, we make so many mistakes on both ends of the floor, it's hard to recover from that on the road.

Our goal was to clinch a playoff spot. To be up four points with less than two minutes is disappointing to see it slip away.

Yeah, when we came in at halftime, the defensive players were extremely animated and upset, ... They said, 'This is the season. We're not going to let this thing slip away.' And they didn't. They came out in the second half and took care of it.

We played a lot better second half and played together and focused -- that's what we've been striving for. Five players playing together and the bench all on the same page. In the second half we focused and played well. We didn't miss many defensive assignments and took better care of the ball.
