In college tennis one ordsprog
In college tennis one of the tough things for a freshman is to deal with the disappointment of fighting your tail off without getting the results you wanted and now you have to go at it in singles.
Bill Potoczny
It seems like we've had just as tough a match at second singles as first all year. He's going up against guys that have been taking professional lessons longer than he's been playing tennis. But he's really held up his end of the deal. I expect him to go a long way.
Mark Mathias
If I sat back and dwelled on being a four-time state champion in high school, then I wasn't gonna accomplish things that I wanted to later on in life in my wrestling, especially in college. Once you start that freshman year of college, it starts all over again. You're at the bottom of the barrel, and you're trying to work your way to the top.
Robby Bell
We were both fighting against each other and fighting against ourselves, ... Neither us of wanted to lose, and I think that given the [windy] conditions, we played good tennis.
Marat Safin
She had a lot of passion for tennis. She really wanted the opportunity to come to the United States and play college tennis and at the same time get a good education.
Sujay Lama
My mission is always to grow the game of tennis. I didn't want to just put on another tennis tournament. I wanted to do something that was different. I wanted to do something that could bring people that wouldn't normally go to a tennis tournament and watch, and then sell them on tennis while they are there.
Steve Bellamy
I found a lot of other people who were interested in creating a greater tennis presence in Hamilton County. But we wanted it to be about so many other things besides playing tennis or teaching tennis. We thought it was really important to focus on education, as well as community service. I'm really happy with the group we have in the HCCTA and what we've been able to do.
Helen Moser Petersen
It was the only time in my three-year head coaching career where singles was split, and we didn't win doubles. The girls came back from disappointment to play hard in singles. We almost pulled it out.
Ben Bucca
We wanted to place in the top four, but the conference this year is just so unbelievably tough. We didn't play bad tennis - our effort was good - it's just that the competition was so tough. Everyone would have had to win one more match for us to be in the top four. It was a tough day. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day. My feelings are deep disappointment, ... I don't remember being this disappointed, because I wanted this very badly. I guess that's why you're in the game. It's just - it's tough. It's tough.
Joe Torre
We knew it'd be tough. The whole match can be summed up by what happened at No. 1 singles. We looked like we were in control, then the next thing you know, we're fighting for our life. Our guys fought hard when they had to.
Billy Chadwick
The Street is not expecting disappointment or glorious things but ho-hum results. Things are getting incrementally better.
Robert Mattson
At the time, the tennis position was open, but nobody wanted it. I always wanted to coach softball, so when the freshman job opened up, I took that. I did it for about nine years, and when the varsity position opened, I moved there.
Pat Somers
[While Sherman Independent School District does have a program in place to deal with students that have dyslexia, Jeremy's parents, decided to send him to the Shelton School in Richardson for his freshman year.] We wanted to get him some help while he was still a freshman, ... It would have been harder to do when he was a junior or a senior.
Jerry Gray
It's very tough to say (which is my favorite). My goal in both tennis and golf is to play in college, so whichever way I go I'm happy.
