This deal strengthens Ericsson in a number of areas. Marconi just did not have the scale to continue as an independent business, but they are well-known for solid products, very good R&D, and technical expertise.

The new program is designed to keep pace with the growing portfolio of products in the Citrix family and to align those products with our partners' areas of expertise. The program will mobilize Citrix to provide partner benefits and tools that match the specific business or technical challenge of customers and the business model of the partner. It would enable partners to communicate their expertise to customers and address unique markets with messaging about the value of our channel partners.

The strength of Minnesota Bearing, together with the expertise of Air-Hydraulic Systems, provide a good fit with Applied in terms of both product and service capabilities. Minnesota Bearing?s technical knowledge and geographic coverage strengthens our position in the Upper Midwest and creates opportunities for additional growth. We are also pleased to add Air-Hydraulic Systems to our growing fluid power business as part of this transaction.

We are now seeing the benefit of our earlier investments in R&D, which have enabled us to expand the product line-up and successfully appeal to new consumers with products like the Walkman phone series. We now have the number one position in several key shelf-stable categories, including canned ready-to-eat chicken, canned luncheon meat and canned chili and stew.
